I am always updating things around in my home. I love freshening up my wall art and decor to keep it current and looking fresh. I like simple decor that accents my space and allows it to flow from room to room.
One room in your home you may overlook decorating is the bathroom. If you think about it, most spend a decent amount of time in a bathroom throughout the day. Whether it be by taking a bath, a shower, styling your hair, doing your makeup, taking a selfie, or shall we say “relieving yourself”, it’s a well-used room.

I like to turn to nature for a lot of my home decor inspiration. I currently live on Sanibel Island in Florida and often visit the beach. It always seems to have something waiting there for me to capture with my lens. Before I moved to the island, I lived in Kentucky and looked to forests and local parks for inspiration.

During an early spring walk on the beach, I found tons of colored seaweed. I got out my phone and started snapping photos. I thought they may make some pretty wall art for my home. I also used my finger to draw my husband and my initials in the sand. I thought it’d make a romantic-like image to frame too.
If you are inspired by nature and want to take good photos, I suggest taking a lot, especially if you are new to photography. Take photos from up close and from afar. Take photos at different angles and at different times of day. After practicing for a while, you’ll be able to snap a great composition very quickly.

I often use my current iPhone, a 12 Pro Max, which takes amazing photos considering it’s a camera on a phone. If you don’t have a phone that takes great photos, I suggest getting a good camera that takes photos with higher megapixels (the iPhone 12 is 12 megapixels, for example), especially if you plan on enlarging your photos beyond a traditional 4”x6” size. I’ve been able to enlarge my iPhone 12 photos to an 11”x14” size without any issues.

I usually use the Lightroom app on my phone to make lighting adjustments to all my photos. I create presets within the app and then save them so I can use them over and over. I use the paid version of the app, but the free version allows you to do quite a bit of photo editing too. I also sometimes use the FaceTune app. It helps me easily remove powerlines and other things “unnatural” in my nature photography.

I recently took some photos of some of the plants around my home to frame for my guest bathroom decor. I ordered a set of inexpensive wood frames on Amazon and will use them to frame my photos as well as a printable.

If you have a printer at home, you can print your own photos at a low cost. While I sometimes choose this option, I also like to use the Amazon Photos (app or website) to print some photos for my wall decor. It’s inexpensive AND with my Amazon Prime membership, I get them shipped free.

I once ordered an 11”x14” print from Shutterfly and the same one from Amazon Photos for testing purposes. I found the Amazon version was better quality. The paper was thicker and the color seemed more true to life than the Shutterfly version. That was a surprise to me since I had always used Shutterfly, but I quickly switched over once I saw the results of my test.

If you don’t quite want to go the photography wall art route, you can create printables using Canva. I currently use the paid version, but you can create some nice things in the free version too. I’ve used the app to create numerous things for my website, wall art for my Pet Station, wall art for my bathroom in my previous home and more.
Since I get bored of my wall art very easily, I like creating new printables all the time. I then use my home printer to print them on 8.5”x 11” white card stock and frame them in cute frames I find on Amazon. Sometimes I have to trim the printables and photos just a teeny tiny bit after printing, so I use a Fiskars paper cutter to get perfect edges.
Scroll below to get the printables I currently have hanging in my home. I figured I’d share them with anyone who wants them since I already created them!
