DIY Colorful Toilet Paper Origami for Guest Bathroom Decor
While traditional toilet paper origami is typically made using white toilet paper, I decided to combine white and colorful toilet paper to create something cheerful, unique, and completely usable. When I received the colorful toilet paper after ordering it, my eyes were full of joy. I knew I would be able to do many creative things with it. It’s the small things…lol!
The result is a bathroom decoration that makes guests smile while adding inexpensive color to your space.

Display Your Toilet Paper Origami
Once dry, I displayed my colorful toilet paper rolls inside the basket on top of my toilet tank.
The colorful hearts perfectly complement the warm color tones of orange and pink I've added throughout my black-and-white bathroom, including my colorful Sproos shower head and shower filter. (I’ve linked my Sproos! review article here—you can also find my discount code there!)
I love that these decorative toilet paper rolls are still completely usable.
When guests visit, I encourage them to use them! They're easy to replace, inexpensive to make, and they always spark conversation.

Beginner Toilet Paper Origami You Can Make in Minutes
How to Make a Colorful Toilet Paper Origami Heart
This is one of my favorite beginner-friendly toilet paper origami projects because it uses only a few folds while creating an adorable finished design. Once you make one, you’ll want to make more in many colors like I did! The more you practice, the easier it gets.
Supplies

You'll need:
Colorful toilet paper (optional but makes the design truly pop!)
Small rubber stamp or a toilet paper stamp
Water
optional: tank basket for holding or displaying the creation
How to Decorate a Bathroom with Colorful Toilet Paper Origami
Step 1
Tear off the first two squares of toilet paper.
I used the colorful toilet paper for this portion of the design to create a bright decorative heart.
Step 2
Fold the toilet paper in half lengthwise.
Try to keep your folds as even as possible since crisp folds create the best finished heart.

Step 3
Fold both sides of the rectangle toward the center.
Use the perforation running down the middle as your guide to help keep everything symmetrical.
Step 4
Flip the folded toilet paper over so it is horizontal.

Step 5
Fold the four upper corners diagonally downward.
You'll start seeing the heart shape form.
Step 6
Fold each pointed tip downward to round out the top of the heart.
This softens the shape and gives it a finished look.

Step 7
Flip the heart over.
Press each crease firmly so the folds stay crisp.
The sharper the folds, the prettier your finished toilet paper origami will look.

Step 8
Place the finished heart over the seam of the toilet paper roll.
Wet your rubber stamp with water.
Press the stamp firmly into the center of the heart for approximately six seconds before gently lifting it away.
Allow everything to dry completely.
I used the letter "B" to represent our family name, Braden, but any small decorative stamp or monogram works beautifully.
