Why Is My Hair Thinning at the Front? My Wellbel Hair Growth Journey
Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, "Why is my hair thinning at the front?" I certainly did.
As the self-proclaimed Problem Solution Girl, I love finding practical solutions to everyday frustrations. One problem I couldn't ignore was that my hairline had started looking thinner than it used to. I wanted healthier, fuller-looking hair, but after trying different supplements for over a year, I wasn't seeing the noticeable improvement I had hoped for around my hairline.
Then I found Wellbel, and my hair journey took a turn for the better.
Today, I'm sharing exactly what I've been using, what I've noticed so far, and why Wellbel has become my go-to hair wellness routine.

The Problem: My Hairline Was Starting to Thin
Like many women over 40, I began noticing subtle changes in my hair. The front of my hairline wasn't looking as full, and I was seeing more breakage than I was used to.
Hair thinning can happen for many reasons, including:
Age and hormonal changes
Stress
Genetics
Nutrition
Medical conditions
Certain medications (we saw this personally with a thyroid medication my husband was taking years ago in his 30’s, he switched medications and the hair returned)
If your hair has suddenly begun thinning or you're unsure of the cause, I always recommend speaking with your doctor or dermatologist first. They can help determine whether there's an underlying issue and whether a supplement is appropriate for you, especially if you take medications.
The Hair Supplement That Helped My Thinning Hairline
What I Tried Before
Before discovering Wellbel, I spent over a year trying different hair supplements.
One affordable option I tested was Nature's Bounty Hair Growth Supplements, which can be a nice budget-friendly choice for supporting overall hair health.
While they helped support healthy hair, I personally wanted to see more noticeable improvement along my hairline. I also was concerned with the amount of biotin in it as too much can be harmful to your health. Learn about biotins effects on your health here.
That's when I decided to try something different.
While I failed to capture the thinning spot in the front, I can show you the growth Wellbel has helped me have!
The Solution: Wellbel Women+
After researching ingredients and reading countless reviews, I decided to try Wellbel Women+, which is formulated specifically for women over 40.
(If you're younger, don't worry—Wellbel also makes a formula designed for younger women.)
Even my stylist saw more growth faster after I started using Wellbel
I noticed:
Stronger-feeling hair after just a few weeks
My stylist noticed significantly faster root growth after only three to four weeks
Noticeable improvement around my thinning hairline after about two months
Less breakage
Hair that simply felt healthier overall
Even better, I continued taking Wellbel beyond those first three months because most experts recommend giving hair supplements up to six months to reach their full potential.
I'm currently continuing my six-month journey and will keep updating this article with my progress at months five and six.
So far, my hair continues to feel thicker, healthier, and much stronger than before.

Why I'm Sticking with Wellbel
One of the reasons I enjoy Wellbel is that it fits into my daily wellness routine.
The supplements are:
Easy to take daily
Available as a money-saving subscription
Designed to support healthy hair from within
I also appreciate the subscription option because it saves money while making sure I never forget to reorder when it's time for my next bottle.
Once I complete my full six-month testing period, I plan to subscribe myself.

My Haircare Routine That Supports Healthier Hair
Supplements are only part of my routine.
I've also been using the Wellbel Gelee Detox Shampoo and Wellbel Restorative Conditioner, and I've really been enjoying how clean and healthy my hair feels after washing. The shampoo gets rid of so much scalp build up, helping new hair to grow easier.
One product I didn't expect to love as much as I do is Wellbel's unique claw clip. I use it to gently hold my hair up before blow drying, helping reduce unnecessary pulling while my hair is still damp.
I also try to be gentle with my hair every step of the way.
The gelee is actually like a hair gel… and smells great for all genders!
After washing, I wrap my hair in my favorite Crown Affair Hair Towel instead of rubbing it dry with a regular towel. It helps reduce friction, which can minimize breakage. If you'd like to learn more, check out my article about why I love the Crown Affair Hair Towel—and don't forget to use my discount code included there.
Another part of my routine is using my Sproos Shower Head and Filter. Cleaner, filtered water has become an important part of my hair and skincare routine, and I share more about why I love it (plus my discount code) in my dedicated Sproos blog post.
Together, these small habits help support the healthier hair I'm working toward.
Wellbel Women+ Review: My Hairline Transformation
Ingredients I Look for in Hair Supplements
Not every hair supplement is created the same.
Some ingredients I personally look for include:
Biotin
Biotin is one of the most popular nutrients for healthy hair.
However, more isn't always better.
Around 500 mcg can be a reasonable amount for many people, while very high doses—such as 3,000 mcg or more—may not be appropriate for everyone and can sometimes contribute to side effects like skin irritation or interfere with certain laboratory testing.
Always talk with your healthcare provider if you're unsure what's right for you.
Zinc
Low-dose zinc can help support healthy hair growth.
Vitamins A and D
These vitamins also play important roles in overall hair health when taken appropriately.
Remember that many multivitamins already contain these nutrients, so compare labels carefully to avoid taking more than you need.
A Quick Reminder About Supplements
Hair supplements aren't overnight miracles.
Hair grows slowly, which means consistency matters.
While I personally noticed improvements much earlier, many people may need up to six months before seeing their best results.
Always check with your physician before beginning any supplement, particularly if you:
Take prescription medications
Have thyroid conditions (this is my husband, who has Hashimoto’s thyroid disease, and with no Ashwaganda in the Wellbel, he could take them)
Are pregnant or nursing
Have other medical concerns
Your healthcare provider can help determine what's appropriate for your individual health needs.
My Husband Is Testing Wellbel Men
This has become a family experiment!
Problem Solution Girl Solves a Thinning Hairline
My husband recently started testing Wellbel Men, and we'll be updating this article with his three-month results so you can see how the men's formula performs as well. He is now 50 and seeing thinning hair in his already FINE hair type. We use this hair powder to “fill in” his hair, which looks great, but if Wellbel works for him, we won’t need as much of this powder.
Stay tuned!
Frequently Asked Questions About Wellbel and Hair Thinning
Does Wellbel really work for hair growth?
In my personal experience, yes. After trying other hair supplements for over a year, I noticed a difference after switching to Wellbel Women+. Around three to four weeks in, my hairstylist commented that my roots were growing noticeably faster. By about two months, I saw improvement in my thinning hairline, and my hair felt stronger with less breakage.
Everyone's body is different, so your results may vary. Many people need to take a hair supplement consistently for up to six months before seeing their best results.
How long does Wellbel take to work?
I personally noticed stronger-feeling hair within a few weeks, faster root growth around weeks three to four, and visible improvement around my hairline after about two months.
Wellbel recommends giving the supplements up to six months of consistent use, which is why I'm continuing my journey and will update this article with my month five and month six results.
Which Wellbel supplement should I choose?
I'm currently taking Wellbel Women+, which is formulated for women over 40.
If you're younger, Wellbel also offers a formula designed for younger women. Men can choose Wellbel Men, which my husband is currently testing. We'll share his three-month results here once he reaches that milestone.

If you're unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist before adding any new supplement to your routine.
What ingredients should I look for in hair supplements?
Some of the ingredients I personally look for include:
Biotin
Zinc
Vitamins A and D
Always check the dosage of each ingredient, especially biotin, and discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider before starting a new supplement.

My favorite Crown Affair Hair Towel to reduce friction while drying
My Sproos filtered shower head to help provide cleaner water for my hair and skin
Together, these products have become part of my overall healthy hair routine.
