How To Say Thanks To Someone (And Improve Their Home At The Same Time)

Saying thank you to someone is usually pretty easy. You just open your mouth and say the words. But thanking them and improving their interior décor? Now, that’s a different story. Fortunately, if you’re looking to thank someone and make their interiors better, this post is for you. Here’s some ideas.

Mini Frames for Wedding Favors

A custom framed thank you can be reused to frame other things too!

Frame A Hand-Written Note

Instead of just sending the person you know a hand-written note, you could get it framed. Then, they could put it on their sideboard or mantelpiece.

These days, you can use all sorts of services to send framed messages. These are handy if you want to remind the person that you’re still grateful, even years in the future.

Send Them A Flower Box

Sending your friend a flower box to say thank you is another way you could improve how their home feels. These are very presentable and give their rooms a fresher atmosphere.

If you really want to make a statement, it helps to ensure that all the flowers are essentially the same. These have more of a visual impact.

You can make a custom flower cake using my easy Unicorn flower cake tutorial here or via my YouTube video above via my channel @carolynjbraden.

Offer DIY Home Improvements

If you want to say thank you by offering them DIY home improvements, you can do that, too. Actually going to their house and doing something for them that they’ve been planning for a while is a great way to show them that you care.

For example, suppose they want to put some flat pack furniture together. You can work with them to make it happen. Or, alternatively, you could paint a room for them or finish off the half-installed cabinets in their kitchen.

Cook For Their Kitchen

This idea might sound a little strange, but you could also cook or bake for your friend in their kitchen. This way, they can see everything in action and really appreciate whatever it is that they have.

Another idea is to bake them some cookies at home and then give them to them on a reusable kitchen set, like a nice serving dish or mason jar set. This way, you can provide them with gifts that they can use in their kitchen long-term, just for their enjoyment,

Provide A Home Improvement Gift Card

You could also try providing them with a home improvement gift card. Preloading this with money can provide the funds they need to go to IKEA or Home Depot and get the fittings, features, and paints they need to really improve their home. We also love gifting Amazon gift cards!

What’s nice about gift cards is that it gets around the thorny issue of giving someone money. You can tell them that you're not sure what they should do to improve their interiors, but that they can splurge using the money you’ve provided.

Send Custom Door Décor

Finally, you can send them a custom door décor item. These are fun and could be shared memories that you have with them.

Custom home décor is also a possibility. For example, many people like custom monogrammed throw blankets or picture frames with sentimental photographs in them of fun times in the past.
