One of the biggest tricks of spooky season is being conned into making a jack o’ lantern. Sure, they look great on a stoop (at least when they’re cute), but it’s such a gross chore. And no matter how excited and invested kids say they are at the start, the task inevitably falls on the parent once the pumpkin guts are exposed and it becomes clear just how (deceivingly) hard it is to slice through a gourd.
But now we’re feeling exposed because it turns out your average steak knife is not going to, er, cut it. Instead, there are actual kits designed to help “families” (hopefully the kids now too!) carve jack-o-lanterns. This 42-piece kit includes one pumpkin scooper (see ya, guts!), both a large and small saw, a scrape, a drill, a poker wheel, 10 carving stencils, six LED candles, and 20 cellophane candy bags (just cuz).

The kit is currently on sale for 14 bucks and shoppers say it’s a great value that made carving “super easy.”
“My students loved these. We carved pumpkins in class with these tools. They were easy to handle. Gave you a lot of choices of tools and stencils for ideas. Worth it. Will be ordering for my students next year.”
“We used this kit for pumpkin carving this weekend. It was perfect it comes with lights to go in the pumpkin which really made me happy because I dropped the ball on that. It has a huge scoop instead of a small one and all the carving tools you need. It is sturdy and held up well we carved 3 pumpkins with this kit.”
Whether you’re a pumpkin carving connoisseur ready to carve an elaborate design, or just a parent who’s tired of tracking down patterns and using ineffective tools (we are most definitely the latter), this pumpkin carving kit will make it easier.
