How to Naturally Get Rid of Stinky Carpet Odors with Viori

Getting rid of carpet and rugs that are stinky is extremely easy. If you don’t have a budget to remove and replace your carpet or you don’t have the funds to buy more rugs, Pawson Co. by Viori is one of our budget friendly go-to natural carpet odor eliminators. When I was a child, we used carpet deodorizers, but they were all scented with heavy and unnatural perfumes. Viori does things differently and naturally and here’s why we love the brand and their natural carpet deodorizer.

We love the Viori brand and wrote about our love of their shampoo, conditioners, and their dry shampoo, all of which we tested and had great results. You can read our full review of those on my website here.

Humid Environments + Pet + Teen Filled Homes

As far as Viori’s Pawson Co. Carpet Deodorizer, we put it to the test on some of our jute rugs in our Florida home. If you have never lived in Florida or any kind of humid area, you may not know that carpets and rugs among other fabrics can start to smell musty after a while.

We have humidifiers, room purifiers (we love this one on Amazon and learned about it at an Airbnb in Georgia) and I wash things constantly, but Florida is what it is…basically a damp basement. If your home is like this OR if you have pets or kids that leave stinky, sweaty clothes on the carpet, this product is for you!

What the Viori carpet deodorizer looks like

We use plant-based and natural cleaners and skin safe cleaning products in all areas of our home where our pets lay. It just makes sense, especially when we have a dog that loves to lick the floor. I wanted to keep visits to the vet down and keep all of our family healthy, and using better cleaning products can help with this.

The easy to use and sustainable packaging by Viori

The deodorizer is made with 5 simple ingredients: Sodium Chloride (salt), Oryza Sativa Powder rice powder), Zea May Cob Powder (Corn), Zea May Starch (Corn Starch), Fragrance (they used orange peels for this and have a clean fragrance policy which means they only make things with natural or clean ingredients including essential oil, etc.). I looked each one up and what they do, and it made me understand that they are all safe for us and our pets.

Sprinkle on the deodorizer and wait 5 minutes

How-To Use Pawson Co.

I filled most of my hardwood floors in my home with washable rugs, but my jute rugs (I simply love the look of jute rugs) cannot be washed or even cleaned really well. Sometimes they are a bit stinky when new due to their natural fibers. So, I bought this carpet deodorizer, sprinkled a light layer on my rugs and let it sit for 5 minutes as the package directed. This time allows for the product to absorb and remove the odors.

I love all my Viori products

I then vacuumed it up. The jute rug has tiny weavings, which some of the orange peels got into and stayed, so I did a “boost” setting on my vacuum (I have a Dyson) and it got it all up. If you have a rug or carpet like this, either use a more powerful setting on your vacuum or just vacuum the area a few minutes longer.

I now use it weekly on my jute rugs and love it. My rugs smell better, I feel better about using something that won’t harm us or our pets and my home overall smells fresh. You use this on dry carpets and rugs. The bottle is 20 ounces and I know it will last forever because a little goes a long way.
