How to Stamp Toilet Paper for a Pretty Guest Bathroom
There's something special about walking into a guest bathroom that has thoughtful little details. Fresh flowers, pretty hand towels, a lovely soap dispenser—and now, decorative toilet paper with a personalized seal!
If you've been following my DIY adventures, you may remember my DIY Toilet Paper Bow Tutorial, which I created after spotting an adorable bowed toilet paper roll in an Airbnb. That simple idea inspired me to recreate it at home, figuring it out myself, proving that even everyday necessities can become part of your home's decor.
I LOVE my cute toilet paper!
Since making that project, I've fallen down a wonderfully unexpected rabbit hole of toilet paper crafts. Believe it or not, there's even a book called Toilet Paper Origami that I'm currently reading for inspiration! It's full of creative ways to make bathrooms feel more welcoming for guests, and I'm excited to experiment with even more hospitality-inspired ideas.

Why Stamp Toilet Paper?
Decorative toilet paper may seem like a small detail, but it's often the little touches guests remember.
Here are just a few reasons to try this easy DIY:
Adds an elegant finishing touch to your guest bathroom.
Makes overnight guests feel welcomed and appreciated.
Creates a boutique hotel or luxury Airbnb feel at home.
Perfect for holiday entertaining.
Costs almost nothing to make.
Uses supplies you may already own.
Gives your bathroom a polished, intentional look.
Makes every day spaces feel a little more joyful.
It's a fun conversation starter!
It's surprisingly relaxing to create.
And honestly?
After the toilet paper shortages of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, I never imagined I'd someday be crafting with toilet paper! Thankfully, I no longer feel the need to ration every square, so now I can enjoy using it in fun, creative ways that make my home a little happier.
Sometimes beauty really is found in the smallest details.

What Types of Stamps Work?
I experimented with several styles of stamps.
Initial Stamp
My favorite is my personalized toilet paper initial stamp because it gives the bathroom a custom, upscale appearance. The same company that made my stamp makes other cute toilet paper stamp designs too. Amazon carries them and Walmart has some toilet paper stamps too.
Fish Rubber Stamp
I also tested a fish-shaped rubber stamp I already had, and it worked beautifully.
Wax Seal Stamp
As I discovered while making my Toilet Paper Bow tutorial, a damp wax seal stamp can also be used.
The impression isn't quite as bold, but it still creates a lovely decorative finish.
In my experience, embossed rubber or silicone stamps tend to produce the clearest designs.
When to Use Decorative Toilet Paper
Stamped toilet paper is perfect for:
Airbnb rentals
Vacation homes
Powder rooms
Holiday entertaining
Birthday parties
Baby showers
Housewarming parties
Bed and breakfasts
Boutique-style home decorating
Open houses
Hosting family for the holidays

How to Stamp Toilet Paper
Step 1: Position the Roll
Place the toilet paper roll so it unrolls from underneath rather than over the top.
Pull out one square while leaving it on the roll.

Step 2: Fold the End
Fold both outer edges inward until they meet in the center, creating a neat point.
Folding it into a point first
This is the similar folding method I use in my Toilet Paper Bow tutorial before creating decorative finishes.
Wet, Stamp, Hold, Done!
Step 3: Flip the Point Down
Turn the folded point downward toward the roll.
This creates the perfect surface for stamping.
Step 4: Wet Your Stamp
Instead of using ink, simply dip your rubber stamp into clean water.
My personalized initial stamp can actually be attached to a faucet to wet and stamp, but I found the easiest method was placing just the stamp portion into a small bowl of water before pressing it onto the toilet paper.

Step 5: Press the Stamp
Press the damp stamp firmly onto the folded toilet paper point.
Hold it in place for approximately six seconds.
When you remove the stamp, the embossed design lightly seals the fold together.
Allow the toilet paper to air dry.
Final Thoughts
Sometimes the simplest DIY projects have the biggest impact.
This stamped toilet paper project takes less than a minute, requires almost no supplies, and instantly makes your guest bathroom feel more polished and inviting.
Whether you're welcoming overnight guests, decorating an Airbnb, or simply treating yourself to a prettier home, this easy DIY is a fun way to add charm without spending much money.
