5 Tips for Styling Your Baby's Nursery
While the idea of getting to decorate your very own nursery is exciting, it’s also important to know that a nursery is meant to be functional. Nowadays with the styles in interior design, there are a lot of questions if a beautiful living space is even a functional one.
Bold and Colorful Baby Room
You can go on Google or Pinterest and search “baby nursery” and you’re going to be hit with a huge wave of photos. Some will be of the cutest but questionably functional nurseries. While it’s great getting the chance to decorate your baby’s nursery, it’s very important that it still remains functional. So these are some handy tips for achieving just that.
Read on to learn our 5 tips for styling your baby’s nursery.

1- Have everything within reach
The nursery is more than just for your baby to get some shut-eye. This is where the diaper changing and the clothes changing are going to be as well. So it’s best to try and have everything within reach of the changing table. It may even be handy if the nursery was a small room just because it makes it easier to clean up the room but to have everything within reach as well.

2- Be open to doing some DIY
Nurseries are very special because you get to decorate them and the baby gets to sleep in them. Since this room is so special to any parent, why not add a personal touch with some DIY?

Believe it or not but mobiles are very easy to make. You can check out the tutorial for making a floral nursery mobile, but in general, the DIY part for a nursery is quite easy. But if you don’t want to do that then you can even do some other DIY within the room such as painting the walls, putting up some wallpaper or even changing the flooring.

3- Be selective with the furniture
While it is very understandable that you’re going to want some beautiful nursery furniture for your baby, you should also consider the functionality of the nursery furniture as well. Nursery furniture comes in a variety of shapes and sizes (as well as cost). While the nursery sets can be very cute, is it something that can fit into your space?

4- You don’t have to have a theme
Nursery themes are fun but it’s also important to know that they’re not necessary. If the other rooms in your home are a mish-mash of different interior décor styles, the same rule can go for the baby’s room as well. Sure, nursery themes are very popular but it’s most certainly not a must-have either. You can even go as simple as just having a certain wallpaper as this nudges towards having a theme.

5- Feel free to skip out on gender stereotypes
The whole “pink is for girls and blue is for boys” rule for baby rooms has been a thing for years, but it really doesn’t matter what the colors are. Your baby doesn’t need to be surrounded by gendered stereotypes. They’re just babies and their interests are going to be milk, toys, and things on the ceiling. The décor is mostly for you, not the baby. Just try to have fun with the nursery but try to not stress yourself out over it.
