Why Smart Home Automation is Worth the Investment

The idea of making our homes smarter and more efficient is catching on, offering a bunch of benefits that can make your life simpler. Smart home tech and gadgets are expanding rapidly and are becoming more accessible and more affordable so if you’re new to it all, it’s well worth a look (even if you’re not especially tech minded!) Here’s why.

Smart lighting is easy and convenient

Convenience

Smart home makes life so much more convenient, everything from controlling your lights, thermostat, and even your coffee maker can be done without leaving your comfy spot on the couch. They allow you to manage various aspects of your home effortlessly from adjusting the temperature, dimming the lights, or playing your favorite tunes. If you have limited mobility or other health issues this can be even more useful, but it’s something that just about everyone will get use from and makes life run that bit smoother.

Try upgrading your home to a smart home security system

Security

Home security is important for everyone, and home automation provides this protection with features like smart doorbell cameras, motion sensors and smart locks. You can get real time alerts on your phone when someone's at your door or if there's unusual activity. You can even check on your home remotely, making holidays and weekend getaways stress free where you’re not panicking about what’s going on at home.

You can easily adjust home temperatures with smart devices

Saving Money

One of the biggest perks of home automation is the potential to save you some money. Smart thermostats, for example can learn your habits and optimize energy usage- potentially lowering your utility bills. Smart lighting systems mean that you never leave the lights on unnecessarily, and all of your data can be collected and show to you in easy to read graphs giving you so much more control.

While you upgrade your home to a smart home, think about upgrading your bowl sinks too! We updated our round bowl sink with a rectangular one and it made a big difference and we like it better. Check it out in our quick video below or via our YouTube channel @carolynjbraden:

A smart home can help keep you and your family safer

Peace of Mind

Are you heading out for the day and wondering if you left the iron or your hair straighteners on? Most of us have felt like this at time, and if you have anxiety you might battle with these thoughts most days. But with home automation, you can check and control appliances remotely, lock your doors, turn off devices and sockets, and set alarms- all from the palm of your hand. Being able to double and triple check that your home has been left safe and secure can give such peace of mind.

A smart home can help you keep your home fun!

Fun

Smart home can make life more enjoyable- from colorful lighting when you’re throwing a party to music seamlessly playing on your devices throughout your home. Companies like https://www.davisaudio.com can set this up for you, and then you can adjust and customise it to exactly what you want, and to your routines.

We love our Amazon Echo Show and bought one for a mature family member so we could easily communicate virtually. It has a great picture, is easy to use and has great sound! Our music sounds great!

Customizing your home with smart technology is something to think about during the design phase

Customization

No two homes are the same, and neither are the people living in them. Home automation is customisable to fit your lifestyle, automation adapts to your routines making your home uniquely yours in a simple and practical way. With so many different gadgets and abilities that you can add to your network of smart home things, you can get your home to really customise to you and what you need.
