Easy Chocolate Açaí Bowl Recipe You’ll Want Every Morning
The avocado blends right in and creates a luscious texture without overpowering the chocolate flavor. Even avocado skeptics are usually surprised they can’t taste it.
With my addition of almond milk and avocado, it is super creamy without any addition of dairy. It is sweetened naturally by the dates and rich in flavor from the cocoa powder. My husband and I both love these gluten-free, paleo, vegan and dairy free bowls, and I know you will too!
You will taste the banana in these, but if you would like to make these without banana, it is possible. See the See the Tips and Tricks section below the recipe for some helpful recipe ideas.

How to Make Chocolate Açaí Bowls
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender.
Blend until smooth and creamy, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides if necessary.
Spoon the mixture into two bowls.
Add your favorite toppings and enjoy immediately.
I love creamy peanut butter on top to make it chocolate pb…my fav!
Tips and Tricks
I found my ingredients at Whole Foods Market, but most grocery stores and online retailers carry similar ingredients.
Don’t like bananas? Freeze unsweetened almond milk in ice cube trays overnight and use those instead. You may need to add more dates for sweetness as the bananas do amp up the sweet factor.
Want a thinner consistency? Add more almond milk a little at a time.
If you don’t have a high-speed blender, you may need additional almond milk and scrape in between blending to help blend everything smoothly.
I always keep frozen bananas stocked in my freezer. Wait until they are ripe, peel them, then freeze them for at least 24 hours before using.
You can use unfrozen bananas, but you’ll need approximately one cup of ice or frozen almond milk cubes to create the thick smoothie bowl texture.
