How To Make Chicken Interesting Again

Chicken is one of the most consumed meats because it is healthy, affordable, and versatile, but it can, if we are honest, also be a bit boring.

If you eat a lot of chicken, but you are getting bored with the way you consume it, then it is good to know that you can teach an old bird new tricks, and cook with chicken in surprising ways which will make it interesting again, as you will see below.

Turn the Juice Into A Jus

Serve your chicken with sauces for extra flavor

If the chicken you eat tends to be a little dry or a little lacking in the flavor department, one thing you can do to improve it one hundred percent to simply collect the juice and turn it into a delicious sauce by mixing it with honey and soy sauce or combining it with yogurt and spices for sauces that are packed with meaty umami flavor that will explode on your taste buds.

If you are using fresh herbs in your chicken dish, here’s a great way to keep them fresh longer via my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden:

Turn It Into a Lollipop

Chicken lollipops can be a fun to serve to dinner guests

If you are looking for a fun way to serve chicken at a party or event, then you simply cannot go wrong with this recipe for smoked chicken lollipops, which not only make the chicken more flavorsome by adding a smoky glaze to it, but also make it look 100 times more appetizing by turning your chicken legs into beautifully glazed lollipops that are perfect for the finger buffet.

Render The Fat

Chicken pot pies are a delicious way to serve chicken

The fat of the chicken might not be its healthiest component, but it is undoubtedly the tastiest, especially if you render that fat down and then use it to replace butter in your mayonnaise or savory pie crusts. Every time you cook a chicken, save the fat, render it down until it’s thick and meaty, and keep it in a mason jar in the fridge to add to all of your favorite recipes.

Serve It With Fruit

We are used to serving venison with plums or duck with orange sauce, but we do not often think to serve up chicken with fruit. This is such a shame because chicken and fruit can be a winning combination of savory and sweet that will tantalize your tastebuds.

Chicken breast with a sweet peach glaze, roast chicken with roasted grapes, and chicken breast with apple cider sauce are all amazing and will reinvigorate your love for the meat.

Cook It Longer

Slow roasted chicken is tender and juicy

Many people think that you should not cook chicken for too long because it will become sry, and this can be the case, but if you do it right, a long-cooked chicken can taste amazing and be more succulent than you imagined.

Turn the heat on the oven right down and slow cook the chicken for three or more hours until it falls off the bone into a juicy, pulled-pork-esque dish that will truly melt in your mouth and make you wonder why you have been cooking chicken at such high temperatures for so long! But, of course, do make sure it is actually cooked! We use a digital thermometer to always make sure our chicken is cooked throughly.

No longer will you have to suffer from bland chicken dishes if you follow our tips and tricks.
