Confidence Is A Journey, Not A Race

Confidence Is A Journey, Not A Race

One thing that we need you to know about confidence is that it’s a journey that you should take your time with. It’s not a race, it’s not a quick sprint, it’s more of a long-distance run where you can’t cut corners if you want to win. We know that’s not what most of you want to hear, but that doesn’t make it any less true. Confidence is not something that you’re just going to randomly find overnight, it’s something that you’re going to have to work on over time if you want to build a solid foundation for yourself.

In this article, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at. Keep reading down below if you have an interest in learning more about this journey, and how you can make it work for you.

Start By Identifying Your Problem Areas

We’re going to get started by asking you to try and identify the problem areas in your life at the moment. What are the main factors that you think are impacting your confidence? We know that a lot of people struggle with this, and we know that it might be bringing up things that you don’t want to talk about, but it’s good for you. How are you supposed to make positive changes in your life if you’re not actually sure what changes need to be made?

So, even though it’s hard, you have to do this. You have to sit down and wonder what your main problem areas are in terms of your confidence, and then you are ready to start coming up with some kind of plan.

Understanding What You Want To Change

The next step is then working on what you want to change. Knowing what your problem areas are is a good starting point, but then you have to get into some more specifics. For example, is your weight an issue for you? If it is, this is true for many people. They are overweight or underweight and they don’t like that about themselves, so you need to determine the best steps that you can take to reach your desired weight in a safe, and healthy manner.

But, this isn’t the only problem people have. There’s your skin, your hair, the way you smile, and so much more. Everyone has their own group of things that make them self-conscious, so only you know what you should like to change. Let’s take your hair as an example though. It’s worth putting in the effort to understand your hair a little better before you can make any changes to it. This means understanding your hair density, understanding your hair type, what products work best to keep it healthy, and the best ways to style it. If you don’t know this information, that’s why you can’t make a change.

Surrounding Yourself With Support

If you want to reach your desired level of confidence, then you need to surround yourself with support. The people that you surround yourself with will be massively important to how you feel about yourself, which we know can be tough to get right. Sometimes you might think that you’ve got the people you need around you, but really they’re not there to support you.

Feeling vibes from other people that may be causing you to feel flighty or overwhelmed? Try grounding yourself. See some things I do in my 1-minute video below or via my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden:

For example, do you have someone in your life who is constantly making comments that are negative but disguised or thinly veiled? Or, maybe you have someone who always seems to have negative things to say about you, but they try to make it seem as though they’re helping. These people are not good for you, and you deserve better.

Learning To Accept That You’re Worth It

The final thing that we’re going to say is that if you want to be confident then you need to learn to accept that you are worth being confident. This is probably one of the hardest parts of the journey because it’s tackling the mental barriers, but you can do it as long as you dedicate yourself to getting through those barriers.

So, there you go then. These are some of the things that you can do when it comes to trying to get your confidence back. While it might not be the easiest road, just remember that it’s a journey, it’s not a race. You want to build real, authentic confidence, not something that will crumble under the slightest bit of force. We wish you the very best of luck, and hope that you manage to see success on your journey back to the most confident version of you.
