One of the first things I noticed during my demo? The speed.
Because the reverse airflow stretches hair while drying it, you’re eliminating multiple steps:
No pre-stretching
No constant brush tension
No going over the same section repeatedly

My hair is more on the normal side, but it’s long, which takes time to dry. This did speed up my drying process and got my hair really, really shiny and sleek without drying my hair out.

This is where the innovation really stands out.

You can adjust how much tension the reverse airflow applies. Lower settings are great for finer or fragile hair, while higher settings help stretch thicker or tighter curl patterns.

You can set it on three different heat levels (or no heat, which is perfect for curly hair!). It doesn’t rely on extreme heat to get results—which makes it adaptable and less harsh on different hair types. It did not burn my scalp at all, which was something I was concerned about. I’ve had stylists keep blow-dryers in one place for too long on my head by accident and it burned. This never felt too hot on my head.

After my demo, my hair felt noticeably softer and less stressed compared to a typical round-brush blowout. If you notice your hair getting tangled, lessen the tension. My perfect tension for when I want sleek, straight hair is a 2. I started with a 3 like the directions said to do, but my ends tangled a bit, so I turned it to a 2 and it was perfect.
The “tension” is basically the amount of air that pulls your hair into the dryer. More tension equals more pull.

If you’re natural or curly, you know the fear:
“Will my curls bounce back?”
One thing I appreciated is how the REVAIR stretches hair without permanently disrupting the curl pattern. After washing again, waves returned beautifully. It’s ideal if you want:
A stretched look
An elongated style
Prep for silk presses
A smoother twist-out base
But still want your natural texture to stay healthy long term. You can also use it on curly hair to keep your hair dry, but curly. Just turn down the tension and the heat. Curls don’t like heat!

It’s that glossy, polished look you’d expect from a salon visit—without leaving your house. I used their shampoos and conditioners when testing and my hair was super hydrated and shiny! I recommend trying their styling products too. They are cruelty free (meaning they are not tested on animals, which is important to me).

Step-by-Step: How I Used REVAIR for a Salon-Quality Blowout
Here’s how I achieved my at-home blowout:
Started on freshly washed, detangled hair (I used REVAIR’s products and wide tooth comb)
Sectioned hair into manageable parts using the REVAIR clips
Inserted one section into the REVAIR wand (you’ll understand how it works on your hair type with practice)
Adjusted tension and heat settings (I use high heat and a tension 2 to get straight, sleek hair)
Held for about 60–90 seconds per section
Repeated around my head (did you know the dryer head can sit on the removable and included rest?)
That’s it. There is no need to swirl the dryer. The dryer opening seems like it creates a “heat suction” somehow and when you put it on your scalp, your roots dry fast. And no, it doesn’t cut your hair off, lol!

Is REVAIR Worth It?
If you:
Blow-dry frequently or in need of a more effective hair dryer
Have long, thick, curly, or coily hair (though it works for all hair lengths and types)
Want to reduce breakage
Care about long-term hair health
Want salon results at home
Then this reverse-air system could absolutely be worth the investment.
It’s not just another blow-dryer—it’s a different approach to drying hair altogether. And I’ve used many, many blow dryers over the years. This is fast, fun and very effective. I could not believe how sleek and shiny it got my hair.
I did notice the actual dryer head being a bit heavy after using it for a while. I wouldn’t mind seeing the weight being a bit lighter, but this didn’t bother me. If you have very weak arms, use this as an excuse to lift some small hand weights daily like I do. Or do 11 push-ups a day. According to Dr. Vonda Wright (I listened to her on the Mel Robbins Podcast), you should be able to do this!
This is also not very travel friendly, though I do love the carrying case it came with. I do see this as being an opportunity for REVAIR to create a travel friendly version!
