What to Wear When You Feel Bloated: Easy Daily Outfit Ideas

Problem: You feel bloated, nothing sounds comfortable, and suddenly you have “nothing to wear.” Solution: create your own easy daily uniform!

We all have those days when we just don't feel fabulous. Maybe you're bloated, tired, or simply don't want anything tight around your middle. Those are the days when having a few go-to outfits you already know you love can be a total game changer.

I've started thinking of mine as my daily uniform—comfortable, cute, easy to put together, and designed to make me feel like myself even when I'm not feeling 100%.

The best part? You don't need a whole new wardrobe. Just figure out the pieces, also called Wardrobe Essentials or Wardrobe Staples like shoes, beauty products, and hairstyles that consistently make YOU feel good and keep them in your mental (or actual!) “feel-good wardrobe.” And if someone asks if you just wore that outfit (because I repeat mine often)….say “Yep and I looked and felt fabulous, so I wanted to do it again!”.

Nothing to Wear? Try This Easy Everyday Outfit Formula

I love a v neck and glitter freckles!

Start with a Shirt That Doesn't Feel Tight

My two favorite choices are a billowy white button-down or a comfortable V-neck T-shirt.

I love my Amazon V-neck tees because they come in two-packs, are often under $12, and have enough stretch to be comfortable without feeling clingy. A cute V-neck with a fun sleeve can also make a simple outfit feel a little more dressed up.

And then there's the billowy white button-down. It's one of my favorite bloated-day tricks because it gives me that polished look without requiring anything fitted. It's especially great for days when I need to look professional but my stomach is saying, “Absolutely not.”

Comfortable Outfit Ideas for Days You Feel Bloated

A quick no tuck t-shirt hack I love!

Here's another little styling trick I love: if you're wearing a loose shirt, pull one corner through a belt loop instead of tucking the whole shirt in. It gives the outfit some shape and looks pulled together without putting a waistband or tucked-in fabric right across your middle.

Choose Bottoms That Make You Feel Good

For me, it's all about having a few reliable options.

I love wide-leg jeans, especially my RUTI Petite Slouchy jeans. I even painted mine for a fun customized look, and you can find that tutorial here or below via my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden.

Unique details on jeans or jean shorts can also make a simple outfit feel more intentional. I love Joe’s Jeans too and have a pair called The Charlie in gray which are a little more dressed up than regular jeans.

For maximum comfort, SPANX leggings are another favorite.

And in warm weather, I reach for crossover denim shorts from Amazon or a cute lacy or ruffled skirt with built-in shorts. Those skirts are especially great for workouts and everyday wear, and I love pairing them with my V-neck tees.

And don't overlook overalls! They're one of my favorite solutions for bloated days because you don't have to think about a waistband pressing against your stomach. Throw on a lacy tank, leopard print bodysuit or V-neck underneath, add sneakers, and you're ready to go.

Your Shoes Can Be Part of the Uniform, Too

I have a few shoe styles I can reach for without thinking twice.

My Adidas Originals Sambas or VL Court Sneakers are a favorite, along with Franco Sarto Raina or Dolce Vita Nanet Mary Jane sneakers when I want comfortable shoes with a little personality. Wearing them with cute ruffle socks are a little addition that elevates their style, but also can prevent rubbing on your heels.

And let's talk about my ongoing love affair with UGG slippers, especially the Tazz clog. They're the definition of cozy but can still make an outfit feel cute.

For hanging around the house, I love my Adidas comfort slides. They're so comfortable that they have become a true daily staple.

The lesson? Find the shoes that you can put on and immediately think, “Yep. These work and are comfy so they won’t make me mad by noon.”

Cute Glitter Freckles and Easy Outfit Formula for When You Feel Bloated or Blah

My latest glitter freckle color I love: Rose Gold to match my hair!

Don't Forget Your Feel-Good Beauty Routine

Sometimes clothes aren't enough to change my mood.

On days when I'm really not feeling fabulous, I'll add a little something fun—like my FAZIT glitter makeup patches or freckles. They're playful, unexpected, and honestly, they always make me smile.

I also love having a simple makeup routine and a classic hairstyle that I know works. For me, a sleek low ponytail with a middle part is an easy way to look polished without spending a ton of time getting ready.

Comfortable Casual Fashion: My Go-To Daily Uniform

I love Kozakh jewelry!

Some go-to jewelry is also helpful. I ADORE KOZAKH and their pieces are classic, long lasting, waterproof and never irritate my skin. I wear one of their necklaces every day right now. I love my Locklyn necklace and have several pieces. Their customer support is amazing too! Use my KOZAKH discount link or code CAROLYNB20 for 20% off.

My Office-Day Uniform

When I have a day that requires a more professional look, my formula is simple:

Billowy white button-down + black pants + heels.

It's comfortable but polished, and if I need to take it up another notch, I add a blazer.

This is exactly why I love the idea of a daily uniform. You don't have to reinvent yourself every morning.

Create Your Own “I Don't Know What to Wear” List

Here's my biggest tip: pay attention to the outfits you already love wearing.

What shirt makes you feel comfortable?

What pants or skirt make you feel confident?

Which shoes can you walk around in all day?

What hairstyle always makes you feel polished?

What beauty product makes you smile?

Write those things down—or create a little album on your phone—and you've got your own personal feel-good uniform ready to go.

Then, the next time you're bloated, tired, rushed, or standing in front of your closet thinking, “I have absolutely nothing to wear,” you don't have to start from scratch.

Just reach for your list.

Because getting dressed shouldn't be the thing that makes you start your day stressed. Having a few reliable go-to outfits can save time, take the guesswork out of getting dressed, and help you start your day feeling a little more fabulous—even when you're not feeling fabulous at all.

And that's the Problem Solution Girl way to get dressed! 💕
