I like to use CoverGirl Clear Mascara to get a feathered look. It’s a good alternative to Anastasia Brow Freeze:

I like using Brow Freeze but it took me three weeks to nail it. I consider myself to be a makeup and beauty product fanatic but this one threw me for a loop. I had to experiment with many different products brow color/filler products before I found one that worked with the Brow Freeze on my combination skin.
After lots of trials, I ended up using it with Urban Decay Inked Brow. The gel of the Inked Brow made my brow color and feathered shape last and the Brow Freeze seemed to plump my brow hairs (more than using Inked Brow alone), making it a good combination.
Using the right amount of product has a bit of a learning curve. I bent my brow spoolie brush and “tapped” it into the gel to get the right amount. Applying it in smaller doses worked well for me.
Method for Long Lasting Feathered Brows: Brush in Brow Freeze, then apply the Inked Brow, then use the spoolie brush to combine the product. This gives brows a “feathered look”. I sometimes also use Anastasia Brow Wiz (pencil) to draw in “hairs” for a more realistic look.
Using Brow Freeze on brows that are already thick, full and don’t need a filler/color works actually pretty well. I used it on my husband’s unruly brows as an experiment and it tamed his brows really well.
Using your fingers to tap the brows filled in with Brow Freeze helps them hold too.
It doesn’t “freeze” quite enough for me. I think using my tried and true CoverGirl clear mascara has better hold, however, Brow Freeze does plump brows more than CG mascara though.
