How To Use Conair Glam Curls Foam Rollers

Big glam hair is a dream hairstyle that can become a reality quicker than you may realize! I’ve experimented with getting big curls via a snap-style foam roller, but I got a lot of curls. I wanted more of a wavy big curl hairstyle and while I easily achieve it with a large barrel curling iron, I wanted to achieve it without heat styling. I found out how to do it with a quick search thorough Amazon and found Conair Glam Curls Foam Rollers. Read on to learn how to use these simple and soft rollers.

These Conair curlers are definitely fun looking

After buying the Glam Curls foam rollers, I read a Conair Glam Curls promotional article in InStyle. I was intrigued by the writer’s Glam Curls rave results, but it didn’t really have a tutorial included on how to use them. The writer also used three packs of the rollers to achieve her look. I was curious to see how one pack could work on my long, somewhat thick wavy hair and I was curious if I could even use them on my hair type.

Glam Curls are easy to clamp shut

I started my experiment first by brushing my clean and dry hair (I washed it the night before and let it dry while I slept) with my Tangle Teezer. This brush was gifted to me by Influenster in 2022, and I have been using it daily ever since. It truly has been a blessing for my easily tangled hair and for my dog’s long hair. She hates when I brush her tangles with any other brush, but she doesn’t mind the Tangle Teezer.

Next I spread a little Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream into my hands, then I rubbed it gently down my hair strands. My hair tends to be dry and this cream helps rehydrate it and helps control frizz.

Then I used a fine mist spray bottle to slightly dampen my hair with water. I didn’t want it too wet, but just enough to help make the curl actually take. You may not have to dampen your hair, but usually it helps my curls last longer. Then I took a large section of my hair by my face and rolled it from tip to root until the curler touched my head.

I kind of like the curlers as hair accessories!

I then bent the curler to lock it in place. Bending the curlers downward seemed to help keep them in place for me. I had to experiment with this several times until I could get the hang of making the curler stay by my head.

I kept the curlers in my hair for about 3 hours. With my hair only being very slightly damp, it dried in this amount of time. You could alternatively roll them into your hair at night and sleep on them. They are really, really soft and are probably the only curler I could ever sleep comfortably in. I’d tie a silk scarf over the curlers if you sleep in them to help them stay in place and prevent frizz from pillow friction.

These glam curls curlers provide my hair with volume

You could also place a dryer bonnet (I have this dryer bonnet) around them and use a low heat setting on a hair dryer to help speed up the drying process. I was able to wrap all my hair into the 8 curlers (each pack comes with 8) with using very large sections of hair. The curlers are each about 1.38 inches in diameter and 5.7 inches long, so I knew with wrapping such large sections of hair, my curls would be large.

After my hair was dry, I gently unbent and unrolled each curler, revealing very big, loose curls. I brushed through them and they loosened up a lot, which is what I wanted. They were exactly what the package said, “Glam Curls”. If you want the curls to stay longer and be firmer, I’d make sure my hair was wetter and I would leave the curlers in for much longer.

Glam Curls curlers gave me big curls

These make great curlers if you are short on time in the mornings. I could see someone washing their hair at night, rolling these curlers into their hair, and having nice curls by morning. I would have to roll my somewhat thick hair after air drying for a while though, as my hair usually is never completely dry by morning. I purchased mine for less than $10 and at that price, it’s worth the experiment, especially if you have dry hair like mine and try to avoid daily heat styling.
