Eight Things A Man Cave Needs
There is nothing better than being able to have the luxury of additional rooms in your house to play with. You have the standard bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen and lounge but the luxuries come from having things like a separate laundry room, game room and even a man cave. A dedicated space for the men of the house is always a fun retreat, and you can then make sure you have a space for the ladies of the house, too, like a “she shed”.
A man cave is supposed to be the den, the space where he can retreat to watch the football with his friends or just chill out on a gaming station. A man cave should be designed in a way that encompasses all of the things he loves, but the design of it should be considered beyond hobbies, too!
A home gym can be a man cave idea
A man cave can be soundproofed and the colors of the room matter, too. You can visit this site to see the options when it comes to wallpapering and you can choose darker colors for the carpet should he choose those.
Get your partner involved in the decor of his own man cave and help him come up with ideas for the space for furniture, too. Is this going to be for gaming or for chilling out? Is it for watching football or for work? Either way, it’s got to be for him and not for you!
Here are eight things a man cave absolutely needs!
Wall mounted tv and shelf idea
1—A TV
You cannot have a man cave without a TV in it, can you? Think about luxuries here: a large flat screen to the wall needs to be in pride of place. Whether you are looking to equip it for gaming or for movies, a large TV is a must.
If you have the space, mount it onto the wall of the room so that it stays up and out of the way. It wouldn't be a man cave without football or other sports being played, right? Adding a big screen to the man cave will give him somewhere to be and where he can hang out with friends.

2—Comfortable Chairs
A man cave isn't a man cave without a recliner! There are plenty of chair and sofa options that are needed for a man cave, but a recliner with a footrest is a must. If you can get furniture that has built-in cup holders and surround sound, that’s the epitome of excitement. A modular sofa option is perfect for group gatherings, but the recliner is going to be for the man of the cave!
Having a refrigerator in a man cave can be helpful
3—A Refrigerator
Sure, there’s a kitchen downstairs but if you can add a drinks and snacks refrigerator to the man cave, he can keep it well stocked for friends and for himself. Going a few steps to grab what he needs is easier. If the man cave is a spacious one, you can even add a full bar.
Try adding wood crates as wall shelves
4—Good Decor
We talked about wallpaper, but now it’s time to think about everything from carpeting to furnishings. The right carpet will help keep the noise levels as low as possible and keep the room warm and comfortable, too. When you have good decor in the man cave, you can ensure that it’s an extension of the house itself.
5- A Poker or Gaming Table
The man cave can be so much more than a space to watch games on the TV. When you install a poker or game table into the space, you can ensure that there is more to the space than just TV. It’s going to be an excellent space for a game retreat, and you get the poker games out of the dining room, too.

6—Light
If you have a poker table, a hanging light over the top will help you to illuminate the space properly. You should also include uplighters in the corners, too, so that you can light the space for working if you use the man cave for that, too. The right lighting does matter in the man cave and that means researching your options when it comes to lightbulb strengths, too.

7—Sports Memorabilia
If you have a sports fanatic partner, then having memorabilia from his favorite teams is a good way to decorate the space. Showcasing posters and things from his favorite teams will make the space more personal. Adding personal items, like retro gaming consoles and pictures will also help to bring the space to life.

8—A Lock
Lastly, a man cave needs a door that locks! If you have children in the house, the last thing you need is any of them getting into your things. Put a lock on the door that locks with a key and keep it safe!
