An EASY and QUICK weeknight DIY project!
Want to spruce up a space in your home that most people don’t think about making cute? Start in your laundry room! Why not have a beautiful laundry room?!
My husband and I renovated our last house (an 1800’s three story house in the city) and were fortunate to be able to turn a small bedroom into a large laundry room. See that space by clicking here. I miss that large space so much, so I am working to make our new home’s laundry space (a 1978 beachy-island house with a compact laundry area in a bathroom) just as functional and beautiful.
To start, I ordered a set of vinyl decals from Etsy (click here to visit the shop we purchased them from), to make the laundry machines super cute. I followed the directions included in the package and……I.LOVE.THE.RESULTS!
The first one was a little tricky since it was our first time applying decals to anything, but we went VERY SLOW. I recommend going slowly if it’s your first time applying decals too! Thankfully the ones we chose were made up of a bunch of different “stickers” that weren’t attached. This helped us not have to worry about large wrinkles or bubbles.
I’m not worried about taking them off if I ever decide I don’t want them anymore (which I find that highly unlikely because every time I look at them, they make me so happy…I don’t know why…they are just so darn cute!) because the shop included a social media feed that showed how easily they come off. They are basically stickers that a little light scraping (and maybe some Goo Gone) can remove cleanly.
A few tips and tricks:
Go slow
Use a hotel key card or an old credit card to transfer the decal/remove wrinkles and bubbles
Use tweezers for small pieces if needed
