Why This Dill Pickle Dip Went Viral

There’s just something about pickles right now. I felt the pickle inspiration wave last year and couldn’t figure out what to do with it until I thought up my dill snack recipe. See me create it in my short YouTube video below via my channel @carolynjbraden:

From pickle fries to pickle wraps, the internet (and my husband who LOVES pickles) is obsessed — and this dip might be the most addictive of them all.

Here’s why everyone loves it:

  • ✔ Ultra creamy texture

  • ✔ Big dill pickle flavor in every bite

  • ✔ Ready in 5 minutes

  • ✔ No baking required

  • ✔ Perfect for chips, crackers, or veggies

It’s salty, tangy, creamy, and fresh all at once. If you’re a pickle lover, consider yourself warned — this is dangerously good. It’s a great dip to put out at parties and other events.

Tips for the Best Pickle Dip

  • Finely chop your pickles so you get flavor in every bite. We love Grillo’s (they are super fresh!) but use what you love!

  • Taste before serving — add extra pickle juice if you want more tang.

  • For thicker dip, reduce the sour cream slightly or add less brine.

This dip is awesome!

Make Ahead & Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Stir before serving. This dip actually tastes even better the next day once the flavors deepen. I used the Grillo’s fun packaging for my dip bowl.

I don’t recommend freezing it since dairy-based dips can separate.

Adding some pickle juice

Step 2: Add the Flavor

Fold in the chopped dill pickles, pickle juice/brine, chopped dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper and any optional add-in’s as desired.

Mix it up!

Step 3: Chill (Optional but Recommended)

You can serve immediately, but letting it chill for 30–60 minutes helps the flavors really come together. 24 hours is even better!

Step 4: Garnish & Serve

Top with extra chopped pickles or fresh dill for that pretty finish.

That’s it. Easy, right? I am not a huge fan of dill pickles; however I like this recipe. It reminds me of a savory dill infused ranch dressing.

Why This Is the Only Dill Pickle Dip Recipe You’ll Need

This recipe balances creamy and tangy perfectly. It’s not too heavy, not too watery, and packed with real pickle flavor instead of just seasoning. It’s quick enough for a last-minute gathering but delicious enough to become your signature appetizer.
