What is the Best Hot Sauce for Eggs?

Some put ketchup on their eggs, my husband prefers hot sauce. We have been extensively testing hot sauces for eggs for many years as my husband loves hot sauce on his eggs. After doing a Google search, I could see many others wondered about the best hot sauce for eggs too. Here’s some of our favorite hot sauces for eggs, chips, cooking and more.

My husband’s eggs have to have hot sauce

With his birthday and Father’s Day being on my mind, I thought it would be a good time to post our top favorite hot sauces that keep finding their ways to our carts. None of these are extremely hot, as we aren’t quite on THAT LEVEL of hot sauce, however, they all are delicious and manageable for those that don’t love a lot of heat.

Here’s our current favorite hot sauces that make great gifts for the foodie in your life!

We loved the Local Hive Honey Hot Sauce

Local Hive, Target $4.99

We received a bottle of the Original Local Hive Honey Hot Sauce to test and it will now be a staple in our home. My husband tested it on his eggs and unsalted tortilla chips (one of his go-to snacks) for over 2 weeks. It’s sweet with a light hotness that sneaks up on you a couple of minutes after a bite.

I don’t adore the heat of most hot sauces, but I love the balance of sweet and heat with this. Fun tip: Sugar or milk will help something if it’s too spicy, which make the touch of honey in this perfect! I use it in cooking now too with my favorite other brand which I discuss below.

Get it on Amazon (this is a great hot sauce gift set for any foodie lover in your life), Whole Foods, and get their honey here at Walmart. They make hot honey too! If you get their LOCAL to you honey (they make regional honey), you can put it in your Elderberry syrup to help with allergies too!

Cholula Original Hot Sauce, Amazon $4.99

After seeing Reddit posts about Cholula hot sauce being a go-to for many hot sauce and egg lovers, I quickly saw my husband’s people out there! He’s used this one for years and we’ve even branched out to try their other varieties. This Cholula gift set (Amazon, $27) is a great hot sauce lover gift idea and I love using the Chili Garlic one (Target, $3.99) in many cooking recipes when it calls for for sriracha.

My husband, Tommy loves when I let him eat my photoshoot props!

Louisiana Hot Sauce, Walmart $1.48

This hot sauce has been a staple of my husband’s for years. While it’s not sweet like the Original Local Hive brand we tested, it’s spicy and has a simple heat that is classic and pairs great with eggs. At zero calories, it’s an easy way to add flavor in a simple way. You can also get it at Amazon.
