After seeing a weird blue lip color show up in my social media feeds for weeks, I quickly learned it was Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Color and I knew it’d go viral. Influencers were hyping the lip stain up so much, that I decided I had to try it for myself. Read on to learn my exact thoughts about my Wonder Blading lip color experience.

Is This Really Your Honest Opinion?
So, first of all, this is not a paid or sponsored article. I often will receive products from companies to test and post about and I always give my honest opinion. In exchange for receiving the product complimentary, I had to do for this was film a video with my honest opinion, but I decided I needed to write about it too. It’s a very interesting product with a very unique marketing angle.
The blue mask portion of the lip process
Product Safety
I am happy to report that it is vegan and cruelty free! Any brand that puts animals first over money is a good one in my heart. It’s also formulated with safe ingredients, so ingesting a bit isn’t an issue for me. I looked through the ingredients as soon as I got the package because I was wondering about the chemical makeup of the blue mask, but it’s safe.

The Blue Marketing Hook
That blue “mask” that appears on lips as soon as it’s applied was the mesmerizing thing that stood out to me and it’s the brand’s marketing “hook” for sure. A marketing hook is attention grabbing, and this product does exactly that. Seeing influencers with this weird blue lip product on and then seeing the removal that reveals a beautiful color underneath is definitely why this went viral. The removal is a bit a beauty magic and magic always seems to captivate human attention.
I wondered if the “hook” was needed and in today’s beauty industry, with so many brands out there, it kind of is. The “gimmicky” mask removal definitely got my attention and while I’m not certain it’s necessary, it’s a part of the chemical makeup of the actual product. Also, because I’ve never seen anything quite like it, it’s innovative for sure.
You can see the color a bit through the blue mask
The Testing Period
I really wasn’t sure about a lip color that lasted ALL DAY (like, what if I want to switch my lip color in the evening?), but after asking, Wonderskin kindly sent me Sweetheart try, so I figured I had nothing to lose. I tested my kit daily for a week and it had only a slight learning curve. I read reviews, watched numerous videos and tried to figure out what was good, what was not so good and how to use it and here’s what I learned.

Clean, Moisturized Lips Are Best
There are many bad reviews out there due to people trying to put this on too dry lips and then getting patchy results. If you have severe dry lips and have done everything to remedy it yourself and you still have dry lips, see a doctor. Read about chapped lips on the Cleveland Clinic’s website here. Severe dry lips may be a sign of a health or dietary issue, so you probably will not get the right results with this lip product until you remedy your dry lips.
I sleep with a lip mask on every night (I like Make’s Lip Reset in Lunar Lemonade) and drink tons of water every day, so my lips stay pretty smooth and hydrated. While I do my makeup, I also put on Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper to plump and hydrate my lips. I then usually wipe it off and apply my lip color of the day.
If you simply have dry, flaky lips, you can lightly exfoliate them with a soft wash cloth or a baby wipe (I use the Honest Company baby wipes because they are compostable) before using this. Wonderskin has their own 3-in-1 Lip Scrub you could try too.

Application and Removal
After cleaning my lips with a baby wipe and allowing them to fully dry, I shake my tube of the lip mask and then apply one light layer using the wand applicator. I did not feel a tingle or anything really. It simply goes on a sheer blue color but you can see the lip color just a tad as it starts to interact with the warmth of your lips. The color change factor reminds me of old school “mood” lipstick or Tangee lipstick.
See my video about Tangee below or via my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden.
If I only want a very light pink color and don’t need it to last all day, I let one coat dry just a bit and remove the blue mask immediately using a baby wipe. This will give your lips a wash of color, and with the Sweetheart pink color, it’s a very light pinkish red with this application process.
The Sweetheart pink color is pretty
If I want it to be a darker pinkish red, I apply one layer of the product, let it dry, and then apply another coat. This will give my lips a thicker blue “mask”.
It comes off pretty easily, but I do have to wipe around my outer lips and corners of my mouth a bit more.

Overall, I’ve been able to apply it around 11 am and eat lunch and it’s still fully intact afterwards. It only starts to wear a bit around the inside of my lips after dinner, which is around 6:30 pm. I think what you eat matters for sure, because oils always affect lipsticks no matter how long-lasting they are. When this happens, I dab my lips dry after eating, and then reapply a thin layer wherever it is worn and it looks perfect again.
Here is the Wonder Blading with a gloss and liner
Do You Need Liner and Gloss?
Wonderskin has liners and glosses that are formulated to use with the Wonder Blading lip color. I have not used them, but they may be worth checking out. Here’s the Wonderskin clear lip gloss you can use if you want more shine. The stain alone is just that…a stain. It colors your lips and lasts, but if you want a glossy shine, you need to add a gloss top coat.
I love a glossy lip, so for my Sweetheart lip stain color, I tested L.A. Colors Auto Lipliner in Pinky (I got it at Walmart), and it was a good liner match and I already had it on hand. As a gloss, I tested adding L.A. Colors Sheer Pink Glossy Lip Plumper (again, I got it at Walmart) on top and it did well. Neither removed the Wonder Blading stain, so if you can only afford the Wonder Blading lip stain, you could try other liner brands and glosses to see if they’ll work for you.

Removal and Final Thoughts + More Products
Again, the blue mask part is interesting, but it is a bit messy. The overall product does perform well and does last a long time. By the end of the day, it definitely fades a bit and to fully get it off, I use a soft cloth and e.l.f. Holy Hydration Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm.
If you want it off in a hurry (maybe you don’t like the color you purchased), leave the balm on a bit longer (or try some olive oil or coconut oil…remember….oils in food break up many lip colors, so applying it to the lip stain will break it up too) and allow the oil to break it up for a few minutes for easier removal.

Whatever you do, don’t rub your lips too much or you’ll damage the skin. Just deal with the color, even if you don’t like it, and let it wear off naturally if you are having a hard time removing it quickly. You can top it with a different lipstick too.
I love a color that lasts, and this does. If I were teaching all day in a classroom again, this would be perfect, as a teacher rarely has a second to do makeup touchups.
The blush stick reacts to the pH of your skin!
With only 20 minutes to eat (that’s all most teachers get), a product like this is perfect. This product went viral due to the magic of the blue mask BUT, in my opinion, overall, it is a good new beauty product on the market.
In 2026, I got to test the 360 Contour Lipliners in Cocoa and Saddle and not only do they last, but they also are soft neutrals that would flatter any skin tone.
They pair very nicely with Wonderskin Lip Stains in Demure, Whimsical and Hush. All three are beautiful neutrals that never look patchy after the all day wear.
I tested their 1440 Longwear Eyeliners in Brown Sugar, Kalamata and Liquorice and all three are exactly what they claim to be…long lasting! I love using my finger to smudge them for a soft look.
The pH-Activated PHlush stick is great blush that transforms to match your skin tone. On me, it turned to a very flattering pink shade. (See these products in the image above.)
