If you’ve been taking some time off from working out and staying fit, now is a perfect time to get things back on track. It doesn’t matter if you slipped out of your last routine and you’ve been regretting it since. The past is the past now, and all that matters for your health and fitness are the steps you take next.

We’re going to talk today about some of the things you can do to get your fitness back on track once and for all. Fitness has always been a part of my life. From cheering to dancing to walking and more, I love to stay active. Not that I’ve been perfect…I’ve slipped up and wasn’t as active during certain time periods in my life, but I’ve always fallen back into it. Now I strive to make fitness a daily habit.
Read on to learn my five top tips for getting your fitness back on track and keeping it there.
1- Work on Your Discipline

Working on your discipline is definitely something you should try to do if you want to stay on track this time. When you’re not able to keep yourself disciplined, that’s when you start to let your fitness and your workout schedule slack a little, and that’s not what you want. So try to be as consistent and disciplined as can be if you want to get back into the swing of things.
One way to help you stay on track is to actually track your workouts. I use my Apple watch to log my workouts. It’s helpful for me to see a full picture and lots of data on how active I am so I can keep it up. If you don’t have a fitness tracker, search online or on an app store to find one that works for you. Or try keeping a fitness journal.
2- Find Someone to Hold You Accountable

Having someone by your side who’s able to hold you to account when it comes to your fitness and the amount of work you're putting in can make a real difference. It’s not always easy to hold yourself accountable and some of us need that third party figure who can be there to push us on when we’re ready to give up. It could be a friend, a partner, a family member or someone you know from the gym.
3- Keep Things Varied and Fresh

Staying on track with your fitness is a lot easier to do when you’re able to keep things fresh and varied. The last thing you want is for things to get really dull and boring because that’s when you start to lose interest and prefer to stay at home sitting on the sofa. So find new activities, new places to run and new sports you can do that’ll maintain your interest. There’s not a week that goes by in which I do the same workout every day.
4- Find the Supplement That Works for You

If you often find working out too tiring or you’re not seeing the results that’ll keep you motivated, it might be a good idea to seek out the right supplements that’ll help you overcome those issues. Head to steelsupplements.com if you want to get an idea of the options out there and what they can do for you when it comes to improving your fitness.
5- Keep Things Realistic

Finally, you should try to make sure that the goals you’re setting for yourself and your expectations are all realistic. If they’re not realistic, you’ll end up falling behind through no fault of your own, and you’ll eventually become disheartened.
Getting your fitness back on track after a long time out isn’t necessarily easy. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. It all comes down to how willing you are to take on the challenge and deal with whatever’s thrown at you along the way.
