Oh the fun that pets bring to your life!
Our 8 month old American Eskimo puppy, Minnie Pearl, is full of interesting surprises. This week alone brought on two moments that were gross and unexpected, but made me laugh deep belly laughs (my favorite kind!).
The first moment: I was doing yoga and Minnie Pearl was trying to tell my husband and myself that she had to potty. We didn’t get to her quick enough. She jumped on top of me when I was transitioning yoga poses, sat on my stomach and peed. Yep. She peed on me. I just laughed as I slowly peeled myself off my mat and took myself to the laundry room to get my warm soaked clothes off me and into the washing machine. She tried to tell us!
The second moment: Squirrels tend to drop many scavenged items in our yard during the winter months and we do our best to clear them up before allowing Minnie Pearl out. Unfortunately, there was a small pile of leaves we neglected to rake up when cleaning the yard the other day. Minnie Pearl started digging in the pile and before I could stop her, she scooped up something in her mouth. Luckily, she brought it right to me and dropped it by my feet. I looked down and saw it was a bird beak! Not a bird head or a bird body, but just a bird beak (with a few other things attached). She seemed so proud of her find as I used a stick to remove it from the ground and dispose of it. My stomach was churning, but I laughed anyways.
Puppies (and all pets) are full of fun. It’s not worth getting mad at them as they are just exploring, learning and trying their hardest to bring joy into our lives. Try to laugh along with their moments, even when they are really gross!
FYI: The same can be said about human babies and children for sure!
Happy Friday ya’ll! Sending our light and love to anyone who needs it!
