Why Strong Over Skinny Is Important During Aging

Being strong physically can also help you be stronger mentally. Working out with weights is important, but working out your mind is helpful too. I love to research and educate myself on as much s possible (it’s the former teacher in me), and want to bring some of my recent researched ideas into my readers lives.

Feel confident in your own skin

Read on to work out our your mind via a “quick thought” writing piece based on a thought I had about the phrase “SKINNY IS “OUT”….but being STRONG IS “IN” ”!

The older I get (I am currently 43), the more I understand the importance of feeling strong. Maybe it’s because of personally knowing many mature adults that have or had ailments partially because of not keeping up with moving and building muscles. According to Harvard Health Publishing, you must keep up with your body in order to stay strong and coordinated as you age.

Yoga is for all ages

Between doing things like yoga (it’s recommend for all ages), using light weights and walking, you can easily keep up muscle tone in your arms, legs and back and help you to feel strong. I personally also like using the free app version of FitOn and have recommended it to many of my friends and family members. As long as I feel my body can handle it (we all need some rest days!) I walk every day and use weights several times a week.

Feeling stronger physically and mentally helps confidence

Choosing your words carefully can also make a huge difference to an adult or child too. Saying the phrase “I feel strong”, or “You look strong” could be a new fun way of complimenting someone or yourself.

My swimsuit and halter swim top are another part of my move towards better sun protection. It matters for all ages! I love the neon green and black combo. It reminds me of a suit I had in the 1980’s.

Visit my Shop the Post page to check out my swimsuit combo or click here to view the swimsuit and click here to view the halter. Both are items I found on Amazon.com. Get my hair crimper by clicking here.
