Our puppy, Minnie Pearl, has really gotten into yoga. We do what we call “yoga training” sometimes. She loves balancing on my feet and balancing on my balance ball. She especially loves laying on my yoga mat and getting a good puppy massage! She also really loves laying spots that are cool (being an American Eskimo) and the yoga mat is just that.
Last night, however, she decided to fill my yoga mat with her “good energy” and went potty right on it! Ahhh…just when we think we’ve got her potty training going well, she proves us wrong.
Instead of getting angry, I just wiped it up, saw it as comic inspiration, and continued on with my yoga.
About my love of yoga:
Many people think you have to be super flexible in order to do yoga and that is not the case. It is the yoga that loosens you up and MAKES you remain flexible. It also brings a sense of peace when you need to burn off the craziness from work and life in general.
I’ve been practicing yoga for many, many years. I currently do it mostly at home using online videos or using some DVD’s I’ve purchased over the years. I know for a fact that yoga helps ease my back pain, and that makes me VERY happy!
Here are some of my favorites:
Yoga with Adriene (YouTube): I use her videos for a more mild, peaceful and calming yoga session
Jillian Michaels Yoga Inferno: I use this DVD when I really need a good stretch, need to get my heart rate up, and when I need to really strengthen my muscles ALL OVER. There are two sessions on the DVD-one mild level, one tough level.
Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown: I used this DVD when I need to get my heart pumping AND need a quick stretch. Like her Yoga Inferno, there are two sessions for different levels.
Chalene Johnson Turbo Fire Stretch 40: I use this video when I need a long, peaceful, really good all over stretch.
