Finding The Perfect Gift: 5 Tips That Will Help

Choosing the perfect gift isn't always easy, and for many people, it can be a real struggle to find the ideal items to surprise loved ones with year after year. If this sounds like you, you're not alone, around 50% of people in the survey admitted to struggling to buy the right gift, and only 11% said they never struggle with gift inspiration.

If you're in the first group and not the 11%, then these tips can be helpful.

Try getting something monogrammed for a loved one’s gift

Personalize It

A personalized gift will always show you have put more thought into something than grabbing an item off the shelf. You can buy customized gifts in many ways, from blankets, soft bedding, socks, photo books, and even key chain letters with the initials of their name or even full name. That little extra touch of adding photos or their name to something can be a great option.

Gifting an experience creates memories

Experience

A great way to show you care is to choose an experience over an actual physical gift. More people want to enjoy the world around them, and an experience gift allows them to do just that. It can be a trip away if the budget allows for this, a concert, theatre show, day out, or anything involving them going somewhere or doing something fun. The beauty is that you're giving them something they enjoy and can make memories to treasure for many years to come.

The gift of your time or money to an animal shelter is always important

Donation

This option might not be for everyone, but if the recipient is a person who is involved in charities or does a lot to help others, then why not consider a donation instead? You can make a donation in their name to a favorite charity of theirs; you can sponsor an animal or even a person; you can pay to supply meals for people in need or school supplies for those who don't have access to them or anything else that offered by a charity they love and support or are even already involved in. Not everyone likes to receive gifts, which could be a perfect way to show you who they are and what they would appreciate.

Cleaning someone’s home that is in need is a great gift you can give

Time, Not Money

Again, not for everyone, but giving the gift of time or services, e.g., I owe you a day where I do the cooking or cleaning, for example, or a free pass for a lie-in, can be a great way to give someone exactly what they need. By taking over some of the mental load and offering to spend time with a person or help them out when they need it, you can offer something that might be more valuable than what you can buy.

A beauty subscription service is a great thing for makeup lovers

If you were gifted a beauty product subscription of ipsy and have a lot of the bags, you can regift them with toiletries in them to those in need or you can turn them into another gift, a purse! See how I did it below or via my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden:

Subscriptions

A subscription-based gift can be perfect for those who might not be able to afford something themselves, or you want to give them a gift that keeps on giving. You can buy subscriptions from most things these days, and you can pay on an ongoing basis or upfront for a set period of time. You can purchase beauty subscription boxes, food boxes, subscriptions to magazine companies, or pretty much anything else. It's entirely up to you and what you feel they would enjoy and get the most benefit from.
