If you don’t have time to watch the video (below), here are three of many things I learned that may help you in styling a growing pixie cut:
I still get my hair trimmed once a month. The hair at the base of my neck grows fast so my stylist usually trims that up a little, then blends the layers throughout my cut to make them look “normal”. I’ll probably transition into some sort of a bob-style cut once the pixie has grown some more.
It can get frustrating when growing out your hair (as I’ve wanted to chop it all off again and again), but if you truly are committed, you need to stay patient. Keep some fun hats and headbands on hand to throw on when you are really frustrated.
Find versatile and flexible hold styling products to use as you transition. Some of my favorite styling products are Living Proof Volume Blast, Not Your Mother’s Beach Baby Dry Shampoo, and Olaplex Bond No. 6 (and 7). Lots of hair texture helps hold curls if you want them (texture from either highlights, gray hair or a texture styling product).
