The Recipe Inspiration
My husband loves DILL. He loves dill dip, he loves dill pickles, he loves dill chips. I use it in many recipes as I love it too. I started thinking about the Chex Mix my family made a lot when I was a kid, and while it was good, it was super salty. I wondered if I could make a similar crunchy snack without all the salt. I started researching snack pretzels and found some interesting recipes for ranch pretzels and more.

Made with Healthy Ingredients
I decided to omit the dip packet that most salty snack pretzels recipes called for and just come up with my own flavors using seasonings I already had on hand. We love garlic and onion powder to quickly add salt-free flavor to meals, so I paired those with GHEE (pronounced “GEE”, which is a DELICIOUS clarified butter) and some fresh chopped dill (though you could use dried dill but use less as dried herbs tend to be more potent) and within one test batch, I had the perfect healthier snack pretzel.

Ingredients You’ll Need
Here’s everything that goes into these irresistible dill snack pretzels.
1 bag mini pretzel twists or sticks (I used an 8 oz. bag, double the rest of the ingredients if you use a 16 oz. bag, use unsalted to cut even more salt out, they will still taste delicious!)
5 tablespoons fresh dill weed (Use about 3 or less if you use dried dill weed)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (I use Simply Organic because it NEVER gets cakey and is JUST garlic!)
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
✨ Optional add-ins: red pepper flakes for heat or extra dill if you’re a true dill lover.

How to Make Dill Snack Pretzels
This recipe could not be easier—no baking skills required, promise.
Step 1: Prep
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees (F). In a glass container like a measuring cup, melt the ghee or butter. If using oil, omit this step. Finely chop the dill if using fresh.
Mixing them in my grandma’s melamine vintage bowl that she used to put mail in, lol!
Step 2: Coat the Pretzels
Pour the pretzels into a large bowl or a gallon-sized zip-top bag. Add the dill, garlic and onion powders and pour the melted ghee over the ingredients. Toss with a spatula (or shake in a bag!) until every pretzel is evenly coated.
I added fresh dill
Step 3: Bake
Spread the pretzels onto a parchment lined (makes clean up a breeze!) baking sheet (use two baking sheets if you did a double batch so they don’t overlap too much) and bake at 300°F for 10 minutes.

Step 4: Cool & Snack
Let the pretzels cool completely—they’ll crisp up as they cool. Then try not to eat them all at once (no promises).
Pro Tips for the Best Dill Snack Pretzels
Let them cool fully before storing for max crunch.
Store in an airtight glass container—they’ll stay fresh for up to a week (if they last that long).
