How to Make Sprinkle Valentine’s with Wax Seals
I love a good wax seal and I love sprinkles, so it was just a matter of time before I combined them both into one project. With Valentine’s Day being all about love, it’s a great time to make some homemade valentine cards for those you love. I put together these sprinkle valentine cards with wax seals and here’s how I did it.
You do not have to wax seal your cards, but it looks nice!
Sprinkle Sunglasses
I’ve made lots of projects with faux sprinkles, including sprinkle sunglasses which got quite popular on my Pinterest page. I made several pairs of sprinkle sunglasses, including birthday versions, personalized name version and snow day versions. See my original sprinkle sunglasses tutorial here. See my 1-minute video tutorial for them below or via my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden:
Sprinkles on Food
I’ve made lots of cakes with sprinkles and my favorite was probably my niece’s 16th birthday cake. I added large edible types of “sprinkles” to her Pretty in Pink (inspired by the movie) 3-layered cake. See how I made that here. I love sprinkles by Sprinkle Pop because they are themed. Here are some of my favorite Sprinkle Pop sprinkles from Amazon:

The Project Instructions + Discount
Now for my project! I had lots of leftover faux sprinkles left over from some projects and so after ordering some blank valentine cards on Temu. If you order from Temu, use code afe55197 for 30% off or use my link here.
See the 1-minute video tutorial for this project below or via my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden:
Project Materials:
Polymer Sprinkle Set (I got my set on Amazon for about $8, but Temu and Walmart have them too)
Cookie Cutters (I had my letter set from years ago, but Amazon has a similar set…just make sure the cookie cutters will fit on the blank cards, you could also use heart shapes or other shapes)
Blank card and envelope set (I got mine on Temu for around $6 but Amazon has a similar set for $13)
White craft glue (I used Aleene’s)
Paint Brush (Small craft brush)
Paper Plate or palette for glue
Q-Tip
Optional: Wax seal set (I got mine on Temu and ordered an extra set of stamps, but Amazon has a similar set here for around $19), permanent marker
The supplies for sprinkle valentine cards
How-To:
Place a small amount of glue onto a paper plate or palette.
Pour the glue onto something first
Dip a paint brush into the glue and paint onto the cookie cutter of your choice.
Paint the glue onto the cookie cutter
Place the cookie cutter onto your card, glue side down, to transfer the outline.
Stamping the glue lined cookie cutter onto the card
Dip your brush into the glue and paint a thick layer of glue inside the design.
Painting a thick layer of glue into the letter outline
Sprinkle a layer of sprinkles onto the glue.
I used polymer sprinkles for this craft
Shake the card upside down to remove the excess sprinkles. I used a pointy q-tip to push around some sprinkles if they got where I didn’t want them.
The sprinkle valentine
Leave the cards to dry overnight. They look fine on their own, but to give them a bit more accent, I used a permanent marker to outline them a bit.
I added an outline to my cards for a comic book feel
Some sprinkles fell off, but they were ones that I didn’t quite push into the glue all the way. This is a good time to remove any loose sprinkles and place the cards into the envelopes.
Writing a message on the back of the valentine
I heated up my wax beads in my wax seal warmer while I wrote messages on the backs of the cards.
A completed wax seal
I poured the wax onto the envelope and pushed a heart shaped stamp into the hot wax. You can lift it up after about 30 seconds. See my full wax seal tutorial here on my website or in my video below:
The finished sprinkle valentines
Then the cards are done! This is a cute project to do on your own, or have your kid or grandchildren make them with you for their classmates or friends!
These could also be cute birthday or any occasion cards to tell someone you love them
