I love Fazit designs!

The Crafty Inspiration

I love my Fazit Twilight speckles. The little black bats among silver sparkles spoke to me creatively, so I made a tiara to match. My DIY hair accessories have been popular crafts on my social media pages, so I thought I’d add this cute bat inspired headband tiara to my collection. I also thought about the movie Twilight when crafting this, as the vampires had “diamond” skin that glittered like the bling I used in this craft.

Styling Ideas

This tiara will look cute with a fun sparkly dress like my vintage prom dress I’m wearing in the images, with a bat-themed DIY costume, or just with any of your regular clothes. Pairing a few Halloween accessories with clothes from your own closet make for the perfect Halloween costume with regular clothes. I have more ideas for last minute costumes using regular clothes here.

How To:

Gather two pipe cleaners of your color scheme choice. I started with two black pipe cleaners. Place them under the headband, pull until they will be even and fold in half around the headband.

Twisting on the pipe cleaners

Twist them together (around the headband) several times until they are tightly held onto the headband.

Twist tight to secure

I repeated this process with the black pipe cleaners, then added single silver or pink pipe cleaners and alternated until I had twisted enough on the top of the headband.

Adding some pipe cleaners along the sides

I then wrapped black pipe cleaners around the sides and down the headband until it was concealed. I left the parts around the “ear pieces” without pipe cleaners so it wouldn’t irritate my skin or ears.

Adding the spikes

I then used a hot glue gun to add spikes to the headband base.

Gluing on the bats

I hot glued on some bats. They are plastic, so the glue can warp them a bit, and that’s why I added the rhinestones to cover this.

I used hot glue to add the heart rhinestones to the bat’s body.

Adding the heart rhinestones

I hot glued on some google eyes and spikes randomly to the pipe cleaners.

Then I added some rhinestones to the bat’s wings using a wax tip pencil and Liquid Fusion glue. I let it dry overnight.
