How to Get Rid of Camel Toe in Pants and Swimwear
Camel toe happens to all ages…yep, I said it. This potentially embarrassing thing occurs in many people’s daily lives and I have some ideas on how you can prevent camel toeing in high waisted pants, leggings, swimwear, workout wear and more with a very simple hack!
I always wondered how the ballerinas in the ballet company I volunteered for had such smooth lines in their leotards and this camel toe pad may have been what they were using. Read on to learn how to fix camel toeing.
Leotards can show camel toe
What Is Camel Toe?
To put it simply, camel toe is when you see the body’s shapes and curves in a human’s pants region. It’s usually female anatomy that has this issue. I have to watch how I phrase this as I don’t want Google to flag this as content not meant for all because I want to keep this as an open discussion (that many of you already have with your close friends) and it shouldn’t make us feel embarrassed.

However, the internet sometimes wants us to not talk about certain things, especially women’s issues (it’s been proven by my media ad company!) and it seems as if many men’s issues have gotten buried too (thank goodness for companies like hims for getting conversations going in their marketing).
Well, I’m talking about my experience with it just in case anyone out there has had this issue too because we’re only human after all…..cue the 80’s song “Human” by The Human League….
Camel toe happens to all ages
I’ve had this happen as an adult and even as a teenager, I was embarrassed to wear certain pants and swimsuits because I didn’t want my “area” to be on display. It happened to me mostly when wearing tighter pants like leggings, or when wearing light colored swimsuits. While I’m proud of my body, sometimes I just don’t want certain things on display.

Can’t You Just Not Wear Things That Give You Camel Toe?
Yes, some people would say “well, just don’t wear the tight pants if they give you camel toe”, however, pants still can fit well, even if tight. It’s just that crotch region that can be an issue with some body types. While not wearing the item is a choice you can make, why not just try to fix the problem instead of having to donate or throw away yet another thing you loved when you first bought it?

Camel Toe Hacks
My Google search when researching “how to fix camel toe” brought up many ideas women have posted online. From bra pads, to sanitary pads, to padded crotch gussets (a gusset is a piece of material sewn into a seam of clothing and in underwear, tend to be moisture-wicking fabric) and more, there are lots of ideas out there.
My favorite camel toe pad
Vanish Vixen, Amazon, 2 for $16.99
Over the years, I’ve experimented with many things to hide camel toe and the one thing I FINALLY found that works is the Vanish Vixen. I bought a pack of 2 of their triangular seamless silicone self-adhesive pads, and started my testing.

The Vanish Vixen works well
Please note, if you have an allergy to silicone, do not use this product. There are silicone free fabric based camel toe solutions like the Cuchini (Amazon, $29.95, as seen on Keeping Up With the Kardashians) and while I haven’t tested it, you could try it.
Workout clothing can be tricky, but the Vanish Vixen helps
Leotard: I first put the Vanish Vixen in the gusset area of a workout leotard and BOOM…the curves were concealed. It took a few tries to get it in the right position so I didn’t see it or feel it, but when I got it right, it worked and stayed in place during an hour video shoot that involved lots of dancing and movement.
Vanish Vixen prevents camel toe in swimwear
Swimsuit: Next, I put it into my pale lavender swimsuit bottoms (the pads are washable, reusable and the stickiness actually lasts!) and BOOM…the curves were concealed. Again, I had to reposition a bit, but it worked and I swam for a few hours and it stayed put. I rinsed it off and it stayed sticky. I reapplied the backing for reuse.
The Vanish Vixen helps prevent camel toe in leggings
Pants: To test in leggings, tighter jeans and high waisted pants, I simply added the Vanish Vixen to my underwear (I have worn Hanky Panky FOR YEARS and love their retro thongs and their classic retro vikini styles), then put on the pants and BOOM…the curves were concealed yet again.
While I didn’t find it uncomfortable to wear (I actually didn’t feel it at all, but some may, so keep this in mind. I have found some other similar products on Temu. If you use my link here or my code afe55197, new users get 30% off). Walmart has some too. There are many different shapes, and since our bodies are all different shapes, you may need a different shaped camel toe concealer like this rounded one.
There are also things to hide bra lumps and bumps issues like these silicone coverups by Hollywood Fashion Secrets. I’ve used the brands’ Fashion Tape (it works wonders on holding dresses and straps in place) and they make a great product.
