The Most Comfy Pickleball Summer Skirt With Shorts
With living in Southwest Florida for almost 5 years, I have seen many, many people of all ages playing pickleball. With the storyline of my fun character, Grannie Florida, and her pickleball love, I have decided to try playing pickleball myself, which lead me to find the most comfy skirt/short combo (also called a “skort”). You can wear the skort for pickleball or any day in the summer heat at any age to look cute and be comfortable.

What is Pickleball?
After talking to a pickleball pro and coach recently, he said pickleball is fun and a very social sport, similar to tennis, but quicker. Not that tennis isn’t fun (per the coach’s words), it’s just a different vibe of fun. Learn exactly what Pickleball is here.
I have been researching indoor places to play pickleball in Southwest Florida (I so far like DNA Pickleball as they have affordable classes you can take), and due to its popularity gaining momentum, you can more than likely find a place to play near you.

Pickleball Skorts
When researching pickleball, I knew I needed some clothing to move better in and that could help me stay cool. I bought my leopard print skort (Amazon) when it went on sale for $13.99. It comes in many colors and prints.
I love the attached shorts on the skirt
I wore skorts in the 90’s and recently wondered why they fell out of favor. I love having a lightweight pair of shorts under a skirt, like I did when I was in Catholic grade school and I wore bloomers under my cheerleading skirt for years.
A visor helps keep sun off your face
The skirt/short combo helps keep you feeling cute and confident that your undergarments are not showing. The flowy-ness of the skirt also helps keep you cool. Staying cool when you play sports is really important, especially if playing sports outside in intense summer heat.
See my Grannie Florida character and her love of estate sales (which she sometimes skips pickleball games for!) in my 30 second video below or via our YouTube channel @carolynjbraden. Get her favorite rolling tote, the Hulken, at %5 off using our link here.
If you are outside playing pickleball or any sport, make sure you wear sunscreen too (I love Sun Bum) and I love my wrap around and travel friendly visor (Amazon) to keep my face shielded. A visor is nice for keeping your hair from looking matted down after a workout.
I like the waistline of the ruffled skirt
Black Ruffled Skort + Shoes
I paired the leopard print skirt with a cropped shirt (I have a short torso, so this worked best for me) and I paired my ruffled black athletic skort (Amazon) with a tank top/bra tank combo that I’ve had for many years. I have been wearing the Adidas Ultraboost shoe for a while now (I’m an avid walker) and love it. I’ll probably wear it for pickleball too.
I snagged the black skirt for $13.99
As far as pickleball rackets, you can ask a pro or a do some research yourself. I like this pickleball racket and ball set on Amazon due to it coming with a bag and being on the lower price range. This ESPN pickleball racket at Walmart is a best seller.
Why can’t you look cute and play pickleball?
You can buy pickleball accessories at every price point, but if you are merely trying the sport, start out with the lower priced rackets and then you can always get better ones if you end up liking it and wanting to play more.
