Easy DIY Birdcage Veil Bow Hair Comb You Can Make in Minutes

If you love vintage-inspired fashion, feminine accessories, and easy crafts that look boutique-worthy, this lightweight DIY Birdcage Veil Bow Hair Comb is such a fun project to make. I created mine in about 20 minutes, and it instantly added a soft retro vibe to my hairstyle without feeling heavy or uncomfortable.

What I love most about this DIY hair accessory is how lightweight it is. Heavy hair clips and accessories can cause headaches after wearing them for a while, but this airy tulle bow comb feels soft and comfortable enough for everyday wear. It easily slides into a 60’s-inspired half-up hairstyle like I styled here, but it also looks adorable with ponytails, loose curls, messy buns, or however you love to wear your hair.

The best part? You can customize this DIY birdcage bow hair comb in any color to match weddings, birthdays, bridal showers, tea parties, holiday outfits, costumes, or even casual everyday looks. Read on to learn how to I did it and how you can too!

Step 5: Attach the Bow to the Hair Comb

Thread a needle with matching thread and stitch the bow onto the hair comb. Place a few stitches through the ribbon section as well for extra security.

If you don’t sew, you can also glue a small piece of felt onto the top of the hair comb first, then hot glue the bow directly onto the felt.
