I love facinators. I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, so seeing all the beautiful hats and fascinators that people wore to the Kentucky Derby was my favorite “event”. I’m not so keen on the horse race itself, but I truly love the fashion. I guess that’s why I love making fascinators!
I made this peacock fascinator as a audition piece for a television show and never intended to share it (per the show audition rules) BUT…..since I didn’t make it on the show, it’s totally mine to share now!
Part of the show audition required me to film me making most of the project, but not all of it. Because of that, the video itself doesn’t include every single step (like how to make the sinamay loops) but since I’ve made other fascinator videos, you can gain that knowledge from those. I’ve included all the videos below!
If you find these tutorials helpful, let me know in the comments! I love to hear about your successes with anything you’ve learned from me.
I purchased most of my supplies at Dee’s Crafts in Louisville, KY and everything else from Hobby Lobby.
Sending my light and love to anyone who needs it!
