All the cats I have cared for have loved hanging out in the bathtub. They’ve all loved everything about the tub EXCEPT getting a bath.
Well, all of them except Ross. Our boy Maine Coon, Ross, doesn’t love getting baths, but being the sweet-natured boy he is, he allows us to bathe him without issues. He’s a rare cat indeed.
Monica, our girl Maine Coon, however, HATES to be bathed. Baths are not a common thing in our house for the cats, but every once in a while, they’ll have a potty accident (long rear-end hair plus an upset stomach equals messes) and we’ll have to bathe them.
It takes two of us to deal with Monica in the bathtub. Her claws come out (as we do not believe in declawing) as one of us holds her (usually Tommy) while I suds her up. The moaning and the groaning ends as soon as she’s out of the water. She instantly returns to being the happy cat she is as she licks her wet fur “clean” again.
It’s always an adventure with owning any pets, but giving a cat a bath has to be one of the most interesting adventures in pet care. But that’s just my opinion. :)
Happy Friday ya’ll! Sending our light and love to anyone who needs it!
