Minnie Pearl, our American Eskimo, took a liking to carrots this week. Since they take a while to snack on, it gives us AND our Maine Coons, Ross and Monica, a well-deserved break from her non-stop play in between her naps.
Our former dogs, Joey and Vegas, liked carrots when they were young too. We currently allow Minnie Pearl to snack on the following:
A tiny bit of organic natural peanut butter (organic, no salt or sugar) stuffed into a puppy sized KONG toy (we have her larger KONG ready when she outgrows the puppy sized one)
Organic baby carrots (we watch her when she’s eating them though to ensure she chews them up well)
Grandma Lucy’s pumpkin cookies (torn into bits for training, organic)
Grandma Lucy’s sweet potatoes (torn into bits, organic)
We watch the amounts we give her too so she’ll still eat her dog food (she’s currently eating this Castor & Pollux Organix food that is USDA Organic and grain free). Our cats snack on Grandma Lucy’s Ocean White Fish (we tear them into pieces, and they STINK, but they love them!) and organic catnip. We eat organic and non-gmo food and feel great, so we figure our pets need the same to feel great too!
Our former dogs, Joey and Vegas, started eating more healthy when we did years ago, and they went on to live very long healthy lives. They never got sick nor had any major health issues. Their poor bodies were taken over by arthritis (which is what stopped them from carrying on a good quality of life). We started experimenting with CBD oil with Vegas when he turned 15, and it definitely helped his arthritis, anxiety, and allergies. We are now giving daily small doses (we put it on a cookie) to Minne Pearl and have already seen an improvement in her allergies! We use this CBD oil by Innovet.
Ensure you are creating healthy living and eating habits for yourself, and pass on the love to your pets too!
Happy Friday ya’ll! Sending our light and love to anyone who needs it!
