Being such dedicated DIYers, my husband and I always try to fix anything that breaks in our household before we send it to the recycling center or trash. There are many items that you can fix or simply renovate if you do a little bit of research.
My husband particularly loves to take electronics apart. He fixed my mom’s Clarisonic, which was a little easier than he thought it would be and posted his DIY video to YouTube. He’s repaired a Teddy Ruxpin, repaired numerous cars and so much more….Thanks to YouTube, the research to do these things can be just a click away!
Our latest broken household item: Our Keurig K Supreme Plus. After only using it for 4-5 months, it started only sputtering out a couple of ounces of coffee at a time.

We called Keurig to see if they could help us troubleshoot after trying the recommended “de-scaling” and several other suggestions we found on YouTube. After a brief conversation with a Keurig customer service representative, it was determined that the machine was simply broken and we would be sent a new machine right away.

After we received the new machine, my husband decided to take the broken one apart and see if there was any way he could repair it. It seemed as if one of the hoses was clogged, but he didn’t know for sure because he couldn’t easily access the interior of the machine.

After a very through examination, my husband was able to pry the outside casing off and take a peek inside. As someone that can fix many, many things, he unfortunately could not find anything visually wrong with it. He thought something went wrong with the electronics in a section of the machine that he could not access.
We were very thankful to Keurig for sending us a new machine. We never had this issue with our older model, so we know it’s a good product, but we must have just received a lemon.
