The Creative Inspiration
I love a rhinestone bling hat and have created many. With the “junk trucker hat” craze, I created a Sunshine Vibes one and a Joy version in the summer of 2025 and they are filled with lots of rhinestones, patches, letter beads and more. When I look at them, I see the crazy moments that I was having in my life at the time of creating them. With each chaotic moment I had, the hats captured this chaos but in a joyful way. Anytime I am creating something wild, it’s usually because my life reflects that.
Creating helps me deal with my emotions, often turning a very sad moment in to my life into something happy.
My simple cream hat matches many outfits!
With this simpler bling hat creation, it reflects the peace I now feel in my life. I still love my BIG bling hats, but sometimes I want a little less bling and this hat creation is just that. I call it “baby bling” because the rhinestones are still there, which reflects my personal style, but in a very modern and simplistic way. It’s for those that want to maintain a love of glitter, but in a quieter way.
Inspired by Aaron Judge
More Inspiration: Aaron Judge
I listen to political views, I watch what is happening in sports, and I do understand a lot about what goes on in the world and gain inspiration from it. I most recently have paid a lot of attention to baseball, as my husband loves it. My husband brought a conversation about Aaron Judge, currently a New York Yankee, to our kitchen (we chat while we cook together) and Aaron’s life story made me want to learn more.
A tiny bit of bling still adds sparkle to your day
Not only is he 6’7” (he’d tower over me at 5’1” and he’s currently the tallest and largest player in MLB), but his adoption story, his leadership story (he signed a 9 year, $360 million-dollar contract following the 2022 season and was named team captain for the Yankees), has broken numerous records, and so much more. He’s an impressive person.
For me, the impression he makes on me is not about the money; it’s how he got there. He had a long road to walk, but he followed his dreams, his calling and his parents (he was adopted by two teachers) allowed him to do just that. The more you read about him, the more I think “yep, he knows who he is.”

Show Your Team Spirit
So, this New York hat, despite they didn’t make the World Series in 2025 (but I think they will eventually with his help) and this hat is dedicated to him and all those that are dedicated to their life purpose, despite coming into the world in an uncertain way.
I’ve always been intrigued by adoption and his adoptive parents, knew Aaron was a little powerhouse and allowed him to spread his wings and fly because they knew he could. Believing in your kids, friends or family members and their talents goes so much farther that many know. Read more about the transformative effects believing in someone can have via Psychology Today.

Show Your City Pride
This hat can not only help you support a favorite sports team, it can also help you show city pride. I have friends in New York, have visited the city, and my heart sunk when September 11th attacks occurred there. There’s something that stands out about certain cities in America, and even though it’s not a place I’d like to live, it still holds a special place in my heart.

How to Make a DIY Baby Bling Baseball Hat
Now for the tutorial. This fashionable bling hat comes together in less than an hour, is low-cost but packs some serious style. I did not use an official licensed MLB hat (it’s not the official logo and I got it for $13 at Nordstrom Rack), but you can and I’ve listed hats below that would work in various styles and cities/teams. My links come from either Walmart, Target or Amazon.

Here’s what you need to make it:

My craft supplies for this
How-to:
I applied some glue in small sections around the NY and picked up small rhinestones with my wax tip pencil and laid them onto the glue. If the glue oozed out around the stones, I used a pointy cotton swab to dab it up.
Adding the rhinestones
I continued working in small sections until I outlined the entire NY. Some areas were tight, so I glued the rhinestones at a slant in those areas, but it still looked good.
Finishing my baby bling hat
I stopped at blinging up the NY. In other creations, I’ve applied more rhinestones all over the bill and the top of the hat, but with this one, I was happy with only outlining the logo. You can change up colors, rhinestone sizes and more to make it your own.
I felt peace with this simple creation
I encourage you to try the project with your own creative twists and share your creations on your social accounts! If you tag me using @carolynsbloomingcreations or @carolynjbraden, I’ll see it! Or tell me about it in the comments below.
