5 Ways To Brighten Someone's Day

Everyone appreciates and loves the feelings that come along with feeling good. You can send those good vibes outward by trying one or all of these ideas to help make the special people in your life experience a brighter day.

Send Flowers

Who doesn’t enjoy flowers? They are instantaneously brightening for any mood or room. There is just something about a bouquet of fresh flowers that evokes a smile. When you lean in to look at the delicate blooms and leaves and catch a whiff of the flowering fragrance, you take a deep breath and relax a little. It is definitely a nice feeling. Give someone else that feeling with a flower delivery just for them.

Calling a friend can brighten their day

Call Them

Hearing a beloved friend or family member’s voice is often more appreciated than you can ever imagine. In today’s quick-paced texting atmosphere, it is easy to forget there are other ways to connect with one another. Try calling your friend and have an actual conversation. If you have not talked to someone for a while and think a phone call will be awkward, give it a try anyway. You will be pleasantly surprised and make someone else feel special.

Commit to Random Acts of Kindness

Adding a little more cheer to someone’s day does not have to be a big affair. Keep it easy and small, if you like, by noticing the world around you and performing random acts of kindness. If you see litter on the ground, pick it up and place it in the appropriate receptacle. Hold a door open for someone. Make a positive comment on someone’s clothing, such as “That is a really pretty color” (as opposed to how the clothing makes them look).

Watch this video for inspiration on how to brighten someone’s day with these seven examples.

A little gift can brighten a loved one’s day

Buy Something

You do not need to spend a lot of money to make someone feel good. Buying something small is just as meaningful when the gift has meaning. If you know someone who is always losing their charging cable, for example, and you are running errands, pick one up for them.

Choose a bright color so it will be more visible the next time they are frantically searching for it. A gift such as this shows the recipient that you notice what they need and want to help them. Small acts have a big impact.

Cook Dinner

Eating is something everyone needs to do, of course. Schedules revolve around feeding times for adults and children. And yet the process of making a meal is sometimes thrown on the proverbial backburner because it can seem too labor-intensive or time-consuming. If you make a dish that your friend or partner enjoys, surprise them with that special food and take a necessary responsibility off their to-do list.

Wrapping a gift in a pretty can be a nice touch

Doing something nice for someone else is nice for everyone, just because it is a kind effort that you went out of your way to enact. Beyond that, however, is the warm feeling that you receive as a byproduct of doing good things for others. Go ahead and add a little sweet sunshine to someone’s day.
