How to Fix a Broken Makeup Compact with a Magnetic Palette
How to Fix a Broken Makeup Compact with a Magnetic Palette
Problem: I love affordable makeup brands like Wet N Wild, but sometimes the packaging gives out before I’m finished using the actual product. My Wet N Wild bronzer compact was a perfect example. The hinges broke, leaving me with great bronzer but frustrating packaging!
Don’t Throw Away Broken Makeup: How I Saved My Wet N Wild Bronzer
I had already found a solution for my broken makeup pencil caps in my post, How to Save Your Makeup Pencils When the Caps Break, but this broken compact had me stumped. My old solution? Putting the lid back on and holding everything together with a ponytail holder. 😂 It worked...but taking that ponytail holder on and off every time I wanted bronzer was a pain!

Broken Makeup Packaging? This Easy Magnetic Palette Hack Saves Your Makeup
I carefully used a small eyeglass screwdriver to remove the broken compact piece. The bronzer pan itself was attached with a light, rubber-cement-like glue, so I was able to carefully remove it from the original packaging. I removed this glue with my fingers easily.

Next, I placed one of the included magnetic tabs on the back of the bronzer pan. The tab had double-sided adhesive, making it easy to stick directly onto the back of the pan. I removed the clear blue cover off the magnetic side next. Then...click! It magnetized right into my new palette.

I also added a small Natasha Denona eyeshadow sample that was constantly getting lost in my makeup drawers. Now I can keep both products together, along with other makeup pans I want to save or organize.
