Easy DIY Bunny Bags!

🐇 Bunny Bag #1: Paper Bunny Treat Bags with Google Eyes

Links go out to either the brand website, Amazon, CVS, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, or Lowe’s where we source our supplies based on discounts, budget and pricing.

Materials:

Instructions:

1. Cut the ears/head
Flatten the bag and cut a triangle from the top center to create two bunny ears. Optionally, for more designed ears like mine, use a pencil and ruler and measure out perfect ears. Once you have one cut out, use it as a template for each bag!

I made three different sizes

Here are my measurements:

X-tra large bag: I measured 3.5 inches down from the top of the folded bag and added two diagonal lines for ears (measuring from corner of the bag to the 3.5 inch mark), then drew two 6 inch ears on either side of the bag, then added a 2 inch diagonal line from the ear out to the side of the bag, then cut it all out.

Regular lunch bag: I measured 3 inches down from the top of the folded bag and added two diagonal lines for ears (measuring from corner of the bag to the 3 inch mark), then drew two 4.75 inch ears on either side of the bag, then added a 2 inch diagonal line from the ear out to the side of the bag, then cut it all out.

Mini bag: I measured 2 inches down from the top of the folded bag and added two diagonal lines for ears (measuring from corner of the bag to the 2 inch mark), then drew two 3 inch ears on either side of the bag, then added a 1.5 inch diagonal line from the ear out to the side of the bag, then cut it all out.

How I created the bunny bags

2. Create the face
Draw eyes, whiskers, and a nose using a black marker. Or simply glue on the pom-poms and google eyes like mine.

I love google eyes!

3. Add optional details
Glue pink paper inside the ears and attach a pom-pom or cotton ball as the nose or tail.

4. Fill & fold
Add easter grass, candy or small gifts, then fold down the ears slightly to give it structure.

💡 Pro Tip: Use pastel bags or stamp patterns for a more elevated, Instagram-worthy look.

🐰 Bunny Bag #2: Paper Bunny Treat Bags with Ribbons and Flowers

Materials:

  • Brown or white paper bag, extra-large/giant (found mine at Target) work best for this one

  • Scissors

  • Pencil

  • Google eyes

  • Dried Flowers

  • Chiffon ribbon

  • Optional: Feathers

  • Don’t feel like making these from scratch or don’t have the time? Here’s a similar set of pre-cut bunny bags on Amazon with them done and all you need. I chose to make mine as I already had everything I needed on hand and you probably do too!

Cutting the ears

Instructions:

  1. Cut the ears/head
Flatten the bag and cut a triangle from the top center to create two bunny ears. Optionally, for more designed ears like mine, use a pencil and ruler and measure out perfect ears. Once you have one cut out, use it as a template for each bag! I found the X-tra large bag to be best for this bunny bag.

Here are my measurements:
