I’ve finished up my series of Monday Mantras and now am moving on to a new idea: Carolyn’s Monday Musings.
Here is the first one: What if you woke up tomorrow with everything you thanked God for today?
I cannot take credit for this musing. I passed a church a couple of times over the course of the last few weeks and saw this on their signage. I stopped to read it, thought about how thankful I was towards God, and moved along.
After about the third time seeing it, it finally hit me why I kept noticing this. I am thankful for everything that God (and my spirit team) has helped me achieve. I write my thanks and include it in my daily prayers and also have written about it (numerous times). I do believe that I am thankful, but I wonder if I am thanking God enough. I wonder this about all humans.
Are humans thanking God (or whatever higher power they believe in) enough?
So, instead of only writing and saying a few thank you’s (examples: thank you God for my husband, thank you God for my success, thank you God for my pets, etc), I started writing even more thank you’s for ALL THAT I HAVE.
I also turned all of my daily mantras (I am deserving of better, I am supported, I am gifted and talented) into thank you’s as well.
Example:
“I am deserving of better” became “Thank you God for helping me realize that I am deserving of better.”
“I am supported” became “Thank you God for your support”.
“I am gifted and talented” became “Thank you God for my gifts and talents”.
I am also thanking God for for ALL THAT I DON’T HAVE as well.
I know my husband and I are about to start traveling in an RV, but aren’t quite there yet. So, to keep it in my thoughts, instead of writing “I am traveling in an RV with my husband and pets”, I now write “Thank you God for helping me travel in an RV with my husband and pets.”
While I believe mantras work, I know that being thankful to God (and my spirit team) and merely being more thankful in general, can truly help those that are wanting to keep what they have and attain even more. Being thankful is associated with the theory of the power of positive thought, something else I believe all humans need to know more about, but I’ll save that topic for another time.
Sending light and love to anyone who needs it.
