In my mind, the world could stand to pray a little more and as often as possible. I’m a firm believer in the power of prayer, which is a form of meditation.
Most of the time, prayer is made up of positive thoughts and ideas. When you have many people thinking positive thoughts all the time, the world is uplifted.
Notice how I said “uplifted”.
Prayer uplifts, it doesn’t “cure”. You can’t pray that you wake up with a million dollars under your pillow and have it happen. You can’t pray that you wake up tomorrow and are cured of cancer and have it happen. Prayer doesn’t work that way.
Prayer uplifts your soul. When your soul is uplifted, it spreads a positive energy to yourself and to others. That positive energy is what can help one become stronger in their work ethic, stronger against their fight with cancer and more.
Whether you pray at home, in a church, in your car, or at work, it all counts. Do it for a few seconds or for a few hours and make it a habit. Try to squeeze in a little prayer throughout your day, every day, forever.
In the words of songwriters MC Hammer and Prince:
Take a minute, bust a prayer
And you're good to go.
