I had a dream in 2018 that really stuck with me. It was full of symbolism regarding my own personal life, but I also think it has meaning that could help others too.
Here’s my dream:
My husband and I were driving on a dark and stormy night. We drove down one road and hit a large puddle of water. I thought the water was too deep and we would sink, but we did not. Our car was fine, so we continued down the road.
As we drove on, a giant tree fell within feet of the car and hit the ground. It hit so hard, I could actually feel it. We turned around and tried to go down another road and saw a tree had already fallen and was blocking that path. We thought we were blocked from our destination, but all of the sudden, I remembered a road that may work.
We turned the car around and found the road I was thinking of. As we drove down it, I could see small trees lining perfectly straight rows of tiny houses. The storm was clearing and we felt safe.
Then we turned a corner and came to a dark street. The only thing illuminating it was a dark house that was plastered with green glowing eyes all over the front of it. You could barely see the house, but you could definitely see the eyes. Then, I woke up.
We all sometimes feel blocked, or prevented from moving forward. Whether we feel blocked from making a dream come true, getting a new job, trying starting a family and more, we must continue to try.
When one thing doesn’t work, we must turn around, as my husband and I did in my dream, and try something else until it works. This is a lesson I’ve learned and continue to practice each and every day.
My hope is that you understand trying new things (and not giving up until something sticks) isn’t as hard or scary as it seems. How could it be scary when you have a spirit team surrounding you at all times, protecting and guiding you?
I’ve always felt like I’ve had someone (or my “spirit team”) watching over me throughout my life. Someone guiding me, helping me figure out what works and doesn’t, and protecting me. I believe I feel them because I give myself a chance to slow down every once in a while. I believe that is the key to feeling and hearing your spirit team (and your heart).
My advice to anyone that feels “blocked”: Keep going.
Take breaks, but always continue on. All those trees and puddles and rainstorms may slow you down, but that’s okay. Maybe the obstacles are there to have you learn patience or how to start enjoying life one day at a time instead of always worrying about the future.
Don’t give up.
