Fazit Glitter Freckles Tutorial for Tailgating, Halloween and More

When Ipsy put out some Fazit glitter freckles in the Ipsy Shop (for Ipsy members) for $5, I grabbed them up quick. Others did too as they quickly sold out. Others, like myself, were wondering if the glitter tattoo freckles were as cute as their advertising. They, in fact, are SUPER DUPER CUTE but I did have to alter how I put them on my smaller, round face. Here’s how I did it and a bit more about how to remove Fazit patches.

My current picks: green and gold

What is Fazit?

Fazit means “conclusion” or “connect the dots” in the German language. The dots make sense as the company Fazit makes faux freckles, makeup patches or tattoos. The Fazit website shows all of the colors and styles they currently make.

Where do I buy Fazit Makeup Patches?

Fazit Makeup speckles, freckles, tattoos or patches (whatever you want to call them is fine, lol!) can be purchased in a variety of colors via Amazon here. I’ve also found them at CVS, randomly at Marshall’s, only once in the Ipsy Shop, and you can purchase Fazit at Target. My “freckle” strips came in a pack of 6.

These last all day, even on makeup covered skin!

They come in many colors, making the a perfect addition to a tailgating party or sporting event (try gold Fazit freckles for Notre Dame or red for University of Louisville, my alma mater).

They make bows and even snowflake shaped “freckles” which would be cute for winter holiday events. The gold would be a cute accent on a Cleopatra costume or a Greek goddess style costume. These would be a fun addition to a music festival or concert. I’ve worn them simply to the grocery store before and that was it. They are glittery and glitter makes me smile and I just like to smile…smiling’s my favorite (cue Buddy the Elf from the movie Elf)!

Fazit current also makes Decollatage freckles, making them a great addition to special events like weddings, proms and more.

I’d wear these anywhere!

Can You Cover Pimples with Fazit?

Yes, you can cover pimples with Fazit. They make a strawberry Fazit makeup patch that would have been my go-to pimple coverup as a teenager. I’d cut one of the berries out and place it over a pimple…problem solved without messy concealer!

Do Fazit Freckles Last?

After some testing in the HOT southwest Florida heat AND after a hot morning on a boat in June in Georgia, I found they do last. I put them on top of my makeup and they just stayed on from around 10 am to past midnight. I didn’t sweat profusely during my long test day; however, I did sweat some (it was hot!) and they stayed on.

See the cute JOY butterfly junk hat I made to wear on my annual birthday boat ride (it went well with the sparkly Fazit freckles) in my article here or see it created in under 15 seconds via my video from my YouTube channel @carolynjbraden below:

Are Fazit Okay for Sensitive Skin?

I have combination skin (part oily, part dry and even a bit sensitive), and they stayed on without irritating my skin. I put them over the makeup, so that could have helped them not irritate my somewhat sensitive skin. If you have very sensitive skin, test them out in a small area on your body before using them.

How do you remove Fazit Glitter Freckles?

I used elf Holy Hydration Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm (Amazon, $11) and a soft makeup remover cloth like these to remove the freckles. I read some reviews where some had issues removing the Fazit tattoo freckles but I have not had any issues. I do believe an oil-based cleanser is best for any kind of faux tattoo removal. Scrubbing is not the answer as it will irritate or hurt your skin.

fazit directions

The Fazit directions are on the package

How to Apply Fazit “Freckles”:

The first time I applied them, I did it exactly as the package directed. Fazit directed me to pull off the plastic backing, apply the sticky side of the white paper part (the part with the freckles) to my skin, wet it with a damp cloth for 60 seconds, and them pull away the backing to reveal the stardust sparkles. I did this the first time, but my face shape (round and petite) prevented all the freckles from transferring due to the backing being just a little too big.

Cutting them at a diagonal worked best for my face shape

So, the next time I applied them, I cut the long patch into three sections, cutting them at a diagonal with scissors. I then removed the plastic from the nose “patch”, bent it a bit to fit my nose, put in on my nose and applied a damp paper towel until the white paper backing was saturated (60 seconds). I lifted the backing up and the freckles were perfectly on my nose.

Applying them to my nose

You could just apply them to the nose, or you could apply the rest. I chose to do this. I repeated the application process with the other two pieces (I put them on the side of my nose and onto my cheeks) and the freckles looked perfect.

I did notice some of the glitter specks not attaching perfectly to my makeup, but a couple of light pats make them lay flat and stay put. Different sized faces and different skin tones all are perfect canvases for these cute stardust sparkles and I’m happy that they found their way to my makeup vanity!
