I love to inspire others to be more creative in their lives. How do I do that? Well, by stepping out "into the light." I share A LOT of what I do on a daily basis on my website and also many other places on the internet. I have no idea where this is all taking me, but it's fun sharing so much of what I love with the world.
What makes me qualified to share so much creativity with the world? Well, If you don't know me well yet, here's a little bit about little ol' creative me:
My name is Carolyn J. Braden. The J stands for Jennie, which is my big sister's name. She died when she was three months old, yet I believe she is still around me all the time. Oh--I'm also a very spiritual person. You can find me most days having fun by writing, journaling, meditating, practicing reiki (I'm a certified Reiki Master), doing yoga, or praying.
I have my Master's Degree in Art Education (which I paid for myself AND have no more student loans thanks to good money management skills I've learned over the years!), and taught art in a classroom (to kids and adults) for 10 years, so one thing I know for sure is ART.
I've been married to the same awesome man, Tommy Braden, for 15 years now. We've renovated 2 homes together and are now finishing our 3rd. Our first home design was featured in the Courier Journal (Louisville, KY, USA).
My first YouTube video was "How to Make A Baby Diaper Cake" and was inspired by the birth of my niece Aubrey. It has over a million views. My niece and nephew have inspired me a lot over the years, especially when it comes to my puppetry. Yep. I have a puppet. His name is Humprey GoKart. He has filmed adventures that are all on YouTube. He has puppet friends too.
I was Mario once for Nintendo. (I was in several talent agencies at one point and that's how I landed the job). I think being Mario was my one of my most fun jobs ever. I was also in a Tim McGraw music video (Southern Voice, but don't bother looking it up because you can barely see me. It was fun day though).
I illustrated a children's book most recently. It's due out in November, 2018 and will be titled Bridging Connections. I'm working on a young adult novel now and I'm in absolute love with the story. I'm not worried about it getting published because it'll happen one way or another.
Oh, you'll also need to know this-I'm a go-getter. That's why my husband says to me "You never let moss grow between your toes." That's more true than anything. I get stuff done. But, I also know when to rest.
There's more cool things, but I'll stop there for now. By the way, it's okay to toot your own horn sometimes. How else are people going to know you better?
Get to know even more about me (and Tommy) by following my creative path via my website. Simply browse my portfolio (or Google me--Carolyn Braden), and I'm sure I'll have something on one of my sites that can inspire the creative genius you hold inside of you.
Yes you. EVERYONE is creative. You just may have not had the right teacher to bring it out in you. Let me be your teacher. I hope to inspire you to try new fun and creative things.
