The Golden Girls theme song understood thankfulness. The lyrics "Thank you for being a friend" is the ultimate statement of gratitude you could say to a friend. It's simple and I love it.
I am very thankful and express it every single day. I express my thanks to other people verbally, via thank you notes and I express my gratitude for numerous things in my journal every day. Expressing gratitude can shift your whole outlook on life. Little bothersome things stop bothering you so much when you get in the habit of expressing your gratitude.
If you don't believe me, try it. I challenge you to express your gratitude daily in some way for 30 days. Write it, say it or think it every day. Be thankful for your eyesight if you can see, be thankful for your hearing if you can hear, be thankful you can walk if you can walk. Be thankful for something.
We all have something to be thankful for.
Backstory on my mantra series:
A mantra is a word, phrase, or sound that is repeated to aid in meditation. You could also compare it to a sort of prayer. I feel my journaling and writing of my mantras is a form of meditation or prayer. It calms me and helps me make better sense of my feelings and all the thoughts swimming around in my mind.
I believe saying or writing something repeatedly, as you already have it, aids one in attaining dreams and goals. If you write something as you already have it, it makes you feel, somehow, as if it is truly happening no matter how drastic or scary it may seem. It's like a trick to help your brain catch up to what your heart desires.
