8 Ways to Smell Amazing All Day Long

If you are like me, you may be drawn to people that smell good. When my husband puts on a certain cologne, I want to crawl up in his arms and stay all day. There’s something about good smells that draw people in and make them want to stay there.

Most of us don’t want to smell bad. Some of us are content with smelling clean and fresh, while others want to smell amazing. Why not smell amazing all day long if you can?!

If you are someone who aspires to smell amazing at all times of the day and night, you will be happy to know that there are lots of things you can do to this end, including the following:

Staying hydrated can keep you smelling amazing

1. Drink lots of water

The more water you drink, the more various odors that your body produces will be diluted and the less likely people are to notice things like strong food smells on you. Many people do not realize that odors like garlic can come out of your pores, but if you are drinking lots of water this is far less likely to be noticeable.

2. Layer your scents

Most people think that applying perfume is the best way to smell amazing, and it's true, the right scent can keep you smelling good for longer, but if you want that scent to be multiplied, and for it to last all day, in the best, most subtle way possible, then you need to start layering your scents.

By this, I mean not only using perfume, but also perfumed moisturisers and body lotions, not to mention wonderfully scented hand lotions like the ones sold by Aesop. The more layers of scent you can build up, the longer it will last and the better you will smell.

Just make sure the scents you are layering all match, or at least complement each other, so you do not end up smelling like a million different things because that can be overwhelming if not downright unpleasant.

3. Scent your wardrobe

Scenting your wardrobe and drawers, either by spritzing them with your perfume once or twice a week or by using scented draw liners and coat hangers, will ensure that your freshly washed laundry continues to smell good, and so do you. It’s so easy for clothes to lose their scent or end up smelling musty when they are stored, but by doing this, that is much less likely to happen.

4. Add perfume to your hairbrush

Spritzing perfume directly onto your hair is a bad idea for two reasons; first of all, it can cause your hair to become brittle and break, which is something you probably want to avoid, and secondly, it can cause the smell of your perfume to become too overwhelmingly concentrated.

However, if you spritz a little perfume on your hairbrush and then run it through your hair, it will lightly scent your hair and last all day long.

5. Use soap instead of shower gel

There is nothing wrong with shower gel, but it is fair to say that it does not do as good a job of removing dirt and leaving its scent behind as a really good quality bar of soap can. French soap is particularly divine in the scent department, but any quality soap bar that has a smell you love will work well enough.

Vaseline can be added to skin for lasting scent power

6. Use vaseline

If you apply a thin layer of vaseline to the areas of your skin you apply your perfume to, before you spray your perfume on, then it will catch the molecules and help your perfume to last longer throughout the day. Not only does this mean you will smell better, but it also means you can use your perfume more sparingly throughout the day, so it is likely to last longer, too.

Wash your sheets at least once a week

7. Wash your sheets more often

If you are not already washing your bedsheets at least once a week, then you should start doing so. Sleeping every night in unwashed sheets means that many of the trapped odors will find their way onto your body and hair and leave you smelling less fresh than is probably ideal, but by washing them regularly with a good fabric softener, you will not have that problem.

Brushing teeth regularly helps keep bacteria and bad smells away

8. Brush regularly

Brushing your teeth at least three times a day, flossing twice daily and using a pleasant smelling mouthwash will ensure that bad breath is not a problem, because no matter how good the rest of you smells, if your breath is not as fresh as it could be, you are never going to smell as amazing as you could.

Practicing good oral hygiene starts when you are a child. We recommend the RADIUS Totz Toothbrush for kids. It’s ultra soft, making it a perfect solution for young gums and teeth. It’s also a healthy choice as it’s plant based as well as sustainable due to being biodegradable.

Not everyone smells amazing, certainly not all the time, but you can, and as you can see above, all it takes is a little more time and effort. So, what are you waiting for?
