Case Study: Squarespace + CBC
Helping Users get the Information they want quickly
After receiving numerous comments on various social media sites where I could not include a link to a project I posted, I knew I needed a way to guide users to the information they wanted more easily.
I created a search page on carolynsbloomingcreations.com but it wasn’t working fast enough. After reaching out to Squarespace support, I was told that on sites with a lot of content, the search can time out before the results populate. They said they had no immediate plans to fix it.
Because Squarespace could not help me, I had to create my own fix. After brainstorming (I conducted my own design sprint to ideate solutions), I settled on 5 ways to help guide users more easily to the content they needed.
I work to make all my design solutions accessible to all. I also aim to create content that people want and listen to their needs.
After putting the 5 design solutions into place, I learned many users are using the announcement bar link the most, which guides them to the Search This Site page or to my Contact Us page.
