HONORS
VSA of Kentucky Grant (The State Organization on Arts and Disability)
Grant recipient to be used to have an Artist-in-Residency create art with 8-9 year old students. Students worked with a
Louisville artist to create 3-D Native American Kachina Dolls.

Target Field Trips Grant
Grant recipient to be used to take students on an art related field trip. Trip was taken with 7-8 year old students to the
Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft. Students also participated in a hands- on art project while at the museum. (2010)
Kentucky Institute for Arts in Education, Louisville, KY
Grant recipient to attend institute. The institute took place at The Kentucky Center for the Arts and incorporated Drama,
Dance, Music, and Art in daily classes for two weeks. (2008)
Outstanding Student Award
Recipient of the Outstanding Student in the Master of Arts in Teaching program in
Art Education Award. This award is given by faculty in the Teaching and Learning Department each year to honor an

Development Honors and Scholarship Committee based on nomination of faculty supervisor and demonstration of

VOLUNTEER SERVICES / CHARITABLE CAUSES
Coordinator and Director for primary grade level musical "We Come From Everywhere." Worked to develop characters
and write script, costume design, prop/scenery design, and musical supervision. (2011)
Coordinator for The Artist In Residence program for Byck Elementary, brought in an artist in residence to work with
students on hands on art projects. Grants received via the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, Fund for the Arts, and
VSA Kentucky. (2006-2011)
Coordinator for the Byck Elementary fundraiser "Move-a-thon". Worked with a team of teachers to promote exercise for
students P-5 and raise money to support Arts programs. (2010-2011)
Coordinator and developer for the Byck Elementary Arts Show. Event published in the Courier Journal. Louisville
sculptor Ed Hamilton was in attendance at the event. Pictures from the event were also published in the Courier
